Tempo Oil boy extractor on a TL

Hi,

I bought an Tempo oil extractor for my CL to do oil changes through the dip stick hole. It basically sucks out the oil though a tube. Question is the TL dipstick hole is right in the engine and Im not sure if it will work. Does anyone use oil extractors for their TL?

I want to use this extractor for both motor oil and automatic transmission oil.

Thanks

It should work I do not see why not. It should just be a casted hole to the oil pan. I used to use oil extractors all the time but I used them more for european vehicles when I worked overseas...But I do not see why they do not work as long as the tubing diameter is correct to fit through the hole.

Im going to see soon when my oil change is due...where is the oil filter located?

On the CL, I just turned the wheel completly to one side and stick my hand and there it was!

I would never use one of these or one of the on-off valve type drain plugs either. As for suctioning oil out of the dipstick tube, I would imagine this tubed does not extend all the way to the bottom of the pan, which means you are going to leave a certain amount of old oil in the pan. And unless you measure what comes out, you could under or overfill your crankcase.

The fact that you are having to ask where your oil filter is indicates you may not be real knowledgeable about routine maintenance - and please believe me, this is NOT a flame. There is nothing at all wrong with not knowing something and wanting to learn. There are a number of little things of which you should be aware when doing your oil change to make the job easier, better, and less messy. Ask and you shall be rewarded.

X2

To the OP, pull the plug the old fashioned way. Nothing wrong with getting under the car and a little oil on your hands.

The only issue I see with suction systems is baffling in modern day oil pans. That can have an effect on how much you can suck out. The normal get under your car pull the bolt and filter works just as efficiently if you know what your doing.
