Taillight Tint - Rock Blocker

Well, I will say I gave it a try. Installing the Rock Blocker taillight film is a lot harder than I thought. Does anyone in the northern Va area know if a tint shop would install these for me? As anyone had any luck w/ these? Luckily I only tried one so I'm trying to get a replacement. They look great but very hard to install.

Thanks!
Chad

No shops will usually install them since its illegal to tint taillights
VA is stricter than Maryland and I called all over

It took me a few tries to get it straight and smooshed on properly. It's not something that goes on perfectly at first, it takes a lot of massaging, followed by some cleanup work cutting the edges to be flush with a razor.

I think he is still on here in the "off topic" section. I got mine directly from the website. www.rockblocker.com

That sucks...I didn't know they weren't legal. I don't feel like sweating inspections! I may just return them...I don't know. Sure wish they had the whole smoked tailights.

I just got mine inspected with the CAI (with sensor mod) and rockblocker and everything installed, for both emissions and safety. All they had to say was neat car, at Exxon.... I really don't think it's a big deal.

Up here they tried to bust me for tinted tails till I showed them the law which states brake lites need to be able to be seen at 300 feet on a bright day .. tail lights 100 feet on a bright day and both at a 45 deg angle. Nothing about how bright tho ..

The tail lights were the easy part.......wait till you try the side markers, that will test your patience.

I thought the sides were a piece of cake.... getting the tails to fit perfectly was a harder challenge for me.... just make sure you use the hairdryer.... makes it 100x easier

Yeah I used the hair dryer on the side but the uneven surface of the lights made it difficult for me. The rears went on good, I just made sure I stretched it enough that I had some slack that I could cut off for the perfect fit.

I must admit, the second set I did this weekend was ALOT easier than when I did mine....had to get the one bad one under the belt first!!

I hear ya there.....my passenger side is a much better fit than my drivers side.
But after seeing TL-CrAzIe-05 3G TL OEM Honda rear side markers yesterday at our meet I can not wait till Honda R&D puts them out!
