When I have my head lights turned on, I just noticed last night that on my passenger rear tail light that about three of the lights are out. All of my other cars have just had a single bulb for the tail light.

Does the TL have a bunch of individual bulbs or LEDs? Are they replaceable? I called my local Autozone but the guy didn't seem to be able to get a solid answer for me from the computer.

It's an LED board. Meaning it consists of rows of multiple LED's.

As far as I know you'd have to replace the board...

Great, thanks for the info! $112 for a single LED unit? Seems a little crazy. Or maybe I'm the crazy one. Never had LEDs so maybe that's why its a surprise.

Know anywhere that has salvage parts? Seems like the perfect item to get from someone who has a front smashed (but undamaged rear) TL on their lot.

They will but FYI - they do not come with the LED board. You have to swap them from your set now.

 

Damn. Ok. That's the end of that then. Guess I'll have to stop being a cheap-wad but just seems like this part should be readily available from salvage places. Just have to find it.

From what I've found I have to take off part/all of the rear bumper to do this. Anyone seen the DIY for this job?

 

Rear bumper does have to come off. There are a few DIY's on here. I changed my tails out in 4 beers ~ 1 hour. It's about 6 bolts and a mess of clips around the bottom of the bumper.
