Synthetic Oils

I've been using Mobil 1 5W-20 syn oil for a while now... Is this still considered the best syn oil for our TLs or is there something else that either just as good, or better, and at what cost?

How about oil filters? I'm using the M1-110, and while I know about the Purolator ones, which ones do guys recommend now?

That's a good combination for the TL. It's the exact oil and filter I use. Some people are converting to Pennzoil Platinum since it costs a little less than the Mobil 1 and is similar in protection.

Any other people have an educated take on Pennzoil Platinum? I heard this too and wanted to be sure... Its helluva lot easier to find (the price differential isn't the key for me)...

Stay away from Purolator. Stay far far away.

My best buddy from high school owned an auto parts store for 27 years and would never ever put Purolator ANYTHING in his car. The only oil filters worse than them are a brand called Group7, used by many indepndent garages.

Hmm... Kinda wondering why searches of past posts indicated that Purolator had some good filters...

I'm also looking into if there is any benefit to Mobil 1 sync over the new Penn or even Castrol Syncs? I'm googling but really not getting any "firm" answers... just a bunch of personal beliefs. Like... Fords suck and Chevy rock attitudes? Doens't help me at least. If I find anything, I'll post back later.
