FLBusa won't accept keys for cutting and milling. If you want one you have to get the whole thing from him and then get it cut locally.

See his thread in the Group Buy Forum.

FLB Charges $95 and does great work

The link you posted off eBay looks like it's for a NON-Milled key. It's factory cut to the laser specifications for an 07 - if he buys it for $110 he will need to get it milled down to 04 - 06 specs, then get it cut, program the immob. chip and the fob portion of it

The description says it's cut to fit but if the idiots can't put a picture of a milled key up then I wouldn't trust it.. plus - why pay more? and why not support an AZine member who takes time to do something nice for us?

As you can see at the picture key is milled to the ’04 –’06 specifications, just like it says in the description.

The ends look different to me.

From eBay:

From FLB:

Anywho, FLB has cheaper ones. That ebay seller started selling them for $80 and now is up to $110 (buy it now)

It looks like a cool idea, but I get very annoyed with the switchblade key that came with my 2007 TL-S.

The button is too high and the key keeps on opening in my pocket. Anytime I lean on something or even if gets pressed by coins or my billfold. Overall I suppose it is better than my non folding Honda key, but I think they should have made the button a little harder to activate by accident...

Just my

You are absolutely right. Button should be dipped like all others. But it is not BMW.

Don't screw around with buying on ebay and then having it milled, that will be much more expensive. Just go to www.flbusa.com and buy it there. That guys has done tons of these things and they all have been good as far as I know. The thread listed by Ron A has 14 pages of happy customers, buy it from FLBUSA. I have one and its great.

You can program the lock/unlock to the car but the immobilizer cannot be. The immobilizer requires a special device and only a dealers and VERY specialty lock shops have them.

I could swear it was $110 earlier.. now the price has changed?

Are you the one selling these on eBay because you seem to be getting a little defensive about it..

This 07 Keyfob would not be milled to 04-06 specifications..you'd have to get it done from FLBUSA

Right - once it has been milled you can take it to any lock smith and have them cut it; though you may want to go somewhere not crappy so they don't screw it up. Some locksmiths will be able to program the immobolizer chip as well; if not then your other choice is an Acura dealer. Programming the lock/unlock/trunk/panic buttons is pretty darned easy and you should do it yourself vs. paying a locksmith or someone for that portion (instructions on here somewhere; I used them)

You should really read this thread, it tells you everything you want to know about this: https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=360939

No programming the remote (luck/unlock/trunk/panic) buttons only programs it to the car, not all acura remotes unlock all acura cars; the car needs to know what signal is for it. You can program the remote yourself and it is very easy, just make sure you program all the remotes at the same time, if you dont only the one you programmed will work. The immobilizer is the little chip that lets the car know its okay to START the car. This cannot be done on your own. Like I said earlier you have to go to the dealer or a specialty lock shop to have the immobilizer programmed. So the programmed remote lets you get into the car and the programmed immobilizer allows you to start the car. Got it? If you don’t understand read that thread from beginning to end.

Apparently he's not selling them any longer unless enough people e-mail him saying they're willing to purchase one at $125 (Acura increased the price by $30 earlier this month).

Switchblade Key Order

I ordered mine, got a USPS confirmation from Paypal, and the tracking info isn't good for a week now! It should have been here by now and I'm getting no response so far.

I'll update you as things change!

Has anyone received their switchblade keys from flbusa this time around for the Thanksgiving batch? It's been more than a week now, and he hasn't been responding to my emails. I'm also having the same problem as dmfgrf with the USPS confirmation.
