Switchblade keycut and program

Anyone know a place that will mill keys in so cal? I tried calling like 10 different locksmiths around me and none of them could do it, some didn't even know what I was talking about, 1 guy said I was doing something illegal and wanted no part of it lol, the rest knew what I was talking about but they said they could not do it and didn't know anyone in Los Angeles who could do it. I find this hard to believe.
I wish FLBusa would come back and make some more I would buy one so fast.

^ I am not trying to be an ass but did you read all the posts? That is the problem we are all having. No matter where we live nobady can get thier keys milled.
Just be patient...someone will figure something out eventually

Yeah I read, sorry was just frustrated from calling people and getting nowhere...I hope somebody does figure it out. I wonder what happened to flbusa's mill. Somebody could have a nice side job going if they started doin this tons of ppl want these. Just look how much that one on ebay went for $220! and I was actually tempted to try and bid on it also even at that price because I want this thing so bad lol

Patience my man. The group mill will be back soon. I missed last year's mill by 3 days. Could have me a switchblade key by now but I didn't pull the trigger quick enough. There are guys on the site looking into getting it started back up soon so I'm not worried.

so whats the difference with milled and cut? Have you guys thought about going to a Honda dealership. I got my flip key cut from my honda dealership up the street from me. They had to cut it about 6 times to get it to work in all the locks, etc. They just ask for your VIN. My girl bought her 00 accord from an Acura dealership and gave us a 00 TL key for a spare and it works fine so I know some dealerships can do it.

^ if you look at your key the milled part is the grooves that run down the center of the key. The cutting of the key is the jagged edges on both sides of the key. Dealerships may be able to mill the key to work for an 07/08 because that is what they are designed for but we are trying to have them milled to use in an 04-06 which required completly different milling.

I still haven't even bought my key, but I want to do this for my 04 base as well. will we be able to purchase keys as part of the group buy, or should I buy one, and send it to you?
Sorry if this is a noob question, i have never seen the switchblade keys for a TL
Does the program account for the #1 or #2 driver position?

^ there is no group buy yet. There may not even be one, nobody has said for sure yet. Csmeance said he is working on it...let him do this thing. He will let us all know what will happen and when.
As for the switchblade keys they are for 07-08 TL's. If you do not have an 07or an 08 that is prob why you have not seen one. Use the search function here you will see threads about this w/ pics.

I'd like to get in on this, also. I have an 06 and just lost my #1 key & fob
I'm using the #2 now and I still have my valet key, but my SO doesn't take to kindly to me changing her settings on #2 - gonna have to get a new one pretty soon.

Did you all try this method... Just take the switchblade apart so you have just the key portion, take that and another key, with the instructions? I mean all they have to do is align the midpoints together and cut. I can do it, but considering I am in springfield, and my friend who got one from the last group buy; the mill wasnt even correct so it wasnt worth even cutting....

you are just jealous im first on the list and youre not even on it CarrieLynn! I will have my switchblade before you muhahhahaha

^ we'll see about that...I am supposed to be going to Daytona Beach in a month...maybe csmeance will tell me where he had his done, oh and now I am NOT bringing yours HAHAHAH just kidding
csmeance - I will be down there for bike week, if I bring my key and one other key for 6spdtl-s do you think the shop where the milling was done could do the 2 for us?

^ no we will be taking my husband's 06 Chevy Silverado. We have to pull the trailer with his 08 Hayabusa in it...that thing is his BABY! We went to bike week last year and he had an older Suzuki TL1000, it broke down twice during bike week, that is our luck. As soon as we got back he sold it and he got the busa, he saw the 08's when we were there last year and had to have one! He is a big guy so he would look funny on a small bike. We should get there on March 4th, we will be in Orlando for a few days before that.

I don't think so...a friend of a friend knows some guy that was originally from CT that has a shop down there, he goes by the name kracker...(not kidding, and I have no idea what his real name is) his shop was over by the The Helmet Shop (that is the name of the store), sorry don't know the name of the road it is on, nice people there though
