Switchblade Key

Hey guys. Wife just got a 06 TL (AM) and it only came with one key and key fob.

What's the word on getting a switchblade/fob all in one. Will other years/models work. I was looking at getting a blank one on eBay and having it cut at my local Acura dealership.

I called the dealership today and they told me they have them for the 07-08 TL's for $87 + tax.

87 $ is not bad with cut and program.

I don't think he mentioned the price including programming

The keyblade has to be milled for the 04-06 TL.

Heeltoe charges over $100 IIRC for a switchblade properly made for 04-06 TLs.
I HIGHLY doubt the dealer would hook you up for less than Heeltoe..

+1- contact Heeltoe for the S/B key. Just make sure you get the right one i.e. Driver 1 or Driver 2.

He would still need to get it programmed and cut at the dealer correct?

i also believe that you could just switch the transponder chip from the original key to the s/b key, but you will not be able to turn the car on with the key that you took the chip from.
this would save you some money on programming.
