Switchblade on Ebay???

I know there are several threads already posted about the switchblades, trust me I just spent several hours looking thru them all thanx to good o'le "search" .
I only have one question theres some on ebay (uncut/unprogrammed), I was wondering are they alright to purchase (for an 04) then ship them to one of the vendors here? Or should I be dealing directly with FLBusa? (I PM' ed him 2day)

OR order it from ebay then just use the dealer/locksmith to do the programming and cutting? heres the link
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...spagenameZWD1V

they also have a mem2 (more $$ than mem 1, wonder Y)
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2007-...spagenameZWD1V

Thanx, Eric

FLBusa is the ONLY vendor here that does this type of cutting and He charges $45 to cut the key if you send the KEY to him. And $95 if you want a key from him. And these services is for MEM 1. And programming is what you need to do at the locksmith.

More for MEM 2, just check the BLACK MARKET, man.

Gome - for 95 he will send you a milled key which you then have to take to the dealer/locksmith to have cut like your oem key. FLB is just milling the 07 laser key down to something that will work with our TL's.

I have mine but not cut yet - I'm about due for my first oil change so I plan on asking about it while I'm at the dealer.

flbusa converts the oem laser blank switchblade (07+) to standard key switchblade (<06)

You need to cut and program the key locally because

a) think hes a machinist not a key locksmith
b) you need one of your keys to cut from
b) all keys to be used with the car need to be reprogrammed at the same time or they wont work with your car, which means you will be without all keys for x period it takes to get this done.

Dang.. I wish I knew ebay was selling those switchblade keys for cheap before I bought mine. I bought mine from a dealership for $40 then sent it to FLBusa (thanks man!) and got it milled/cut down for another $45. Then got it programmed and cut at the dealership for another $40.

It is on the PAGE 1 on the thread where FLBusa describe his cost.

$45 ea IF YOU MAIL HIM YOUR KEY(S) - THIS IS FOR MEM 1 OR MEM 2
$95 ea IF YOU WANT A KEY FROM HIM - THIS IS FOR MEM 1
$135 ea IF YOU WANT A KEY FROM HIM - THIS IS FOR MEM 2

Hope this help guys. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Also I love my KEYFOB from FLBusa.

The blank switchblade key as sold on ebay and at the dealer will only work in the 2007 TL for which it was designed. It is too thick for other vechicles. FLBusa figured out how to mill the blank key down so that it will fit 04-06 TL's and some other cars. For additional accurate information....read the thread in black market.

It's 10+ pages because it answers virtually every question that you can think of over the past three months. Please don't start asking all the questions again. If you think you want the key, do us all a favor and put in some work...READ

Mods, how about locking this thread and any others about the key except the official one. The topic has been beat too death.

BTW the correct thread is currently 49 pages. You should be able to get mostly everything you need from the first 4-5. Everything else just discusses specific questions and results, kind of like a reference book.

Rpt-off copycat competition.

That said, this is an Acura parts guy I think that found out about what was going on here and decided to cut himself in. There is likely no difference in the end product and little/no difference in price. The purchased key still needs to be cut and programmed. Why buy from him, not even a member here. Just my

This is an acura dealer though...i dont think they can just copy and sell anything they want as it would have to be warrantied by acura now. FLBusa better be careful now as acura might be able to go after him ....it is their product after all.

it is a little suspicious that they are selling for exact same price as flbusas though at least they didnt undercut him. FLB's keys are pretty good quality now, and chris (jdmlugnut) mentioned that the nickle metal is very good quality, better than our oem key...

Acura of Escondido was in contact with FLBUSA...

A while ago when i got my key, when the demand was high and the supply was low for them, FLBUSA bought quite a few keys from this guy on Ebay,..

What we know for sure is that FLBUSA makes a quality product we do not know if escondido does, or if flbusa made the keys for him.......

Either way we are getting some quality stuff and FLBUSA is making money hand over fist..

can you imagine making $40 a key on 1000 keys $40 grand in like 2 months WOW its all about a good idea and supply and demand,,,,,,

The main and most important thing is that FLBusa is a paying vendor here and supporting the site, which helps keep it free to all.

I could see if you were saving a bunch of money from AofE, but this is not the case, and since the price is the same, and the quality is the same, we should support our local vendor.

I really dont know as of now, I PM'ed him and havent heard from him yet (the pm was only sent yesterday though, I'll give him some time) . I would say PM him to let him know you are also interrested.

p.s. I dont think he does the programming thats left to the dealership/locksmith whoever you decide to go with.

Sorry Bro, should have read your initial question better. I was more upset that the same questions answered in the other thread started reappearing almost at once. As indicated above, your question was a good one and pointed out that some competition has been introduced. Nice to see that you are leaning toward being loyal to our forum vendor. I like working with a small business person whenever possible.
