Swapping the plus & minus..............

I'm thinking of swapping the wires/plugs on the console of the automatic for the plus and minus. I want plus (upshift) to occur when I pull back on the shifter and minus (downshift) when I push the lever forward. I have a BMW M3 with SMG transmission, and that's how it works. I really don't care if the "+" and "-" on the console are wrong, as I never look at that anyway.

So can it be done easily, and will it reverse the paddles (which I don't want...I like the paddles exactly as they are).

It seems like I should be able to just swap the plugs....assuming there is enough wire to reach.

Advice?...Hints?....Will it work?

This is on an '07 TL-S with automatic

Thanks...I'll have to try it. Hopefully the paddles aren't also directly connected to the same switches as I do not want to reverse them.
