are there any things that need to be done before i replace the OEM battery on my 04 tl. any steps to take before? besides making sure the car and all electronics are off? thanks

 

Write down your radio presets and make sure you have the radio un-lock code. Everything else should be OK.

 

i swapped the battery no prob. i only did so b.c i brought the car for service and one of things to be done was to have the ecu updated. the tech told me he couldnt do it b.c the battery was almost dead. ?? he also said that the car was cranking slow and a new battery would fix that. they wanted to charge me 140 for a battery. totally insane.

since putting the battery in, i have noticed NO change in the way the car cranks at startup. i guess he didnt want to mention the TSB for long crank time.
