AT Swap to 6MT

I was thinking the other day, did Acura make the AT TL and the MT TL using the same frame as the MT's... Let me clarify...

Back in the day one of my good friends took his AT Civic and swapped it to an MT. It was more or less simple because Honda used the MT frame for the AT as well... In other word the cut out for the clutch in the frame / firewall was there, just covered up. “I do not know details of the Honda, just recall it was a hatch back Civic”.

Has anyone converted an AT TL with a 6speed MT? Or even know if it is possible... using all the same parts from a 6speed TL.

I'm sure its possible. The real question is, "Is it worth it?" Is there something so special about your TL that It wouldn't be easier to just sell it and buy a manual version?

Sure, its my TL I know where its been, what its been eating and the times we been thru

Honestly I was just wondering, I do not think I would even bother with this mod, 1. Because it would be a crap load of work, 2. It is my daily driver, and 3. unless I am trying to race I dont see the need...

Rather spend the $ on a turbo for it

Again I was just wondering if anyone has done it and if it is worth it / stock like.

Interesting... I just got an 05 TL AT and was wondering what would be involved with the swap... after reading the other thread, I think I'll pass. But good to have more information so I can spend my time looking into other things. Thanks
