Talking Supercharged 3G TL with high miles?

Hi everybody, this is my first post on Acurazine. I've been looking at the GBP Stage 1 Supercharger kit for a while now but I was hoping I could find some people with high mileage TLs that have been on FI for a while. This car is my daily so I thought I should make sure the engine won't blow up in my face. The car currently has 181k miles, I'm the second owner and the first owner is a family friend who mostly drove it on the highway. I got a new radiator and heater core control valves about two months ago and haven't had a cooling problem since. Any kind've info or support would be greatly appreciated!

Put the Kit on and take delight in what the car will be afterwards.
Don't sweat the high miles because there are many pages of TL engines on car-part.com to choose from should it grenade, for any reason.
Remember this important fact, with the purchase of the GBP kit or any other S/C'er product and their supporting modifications, you are entering the realm of 'You've got to PAY to play'.
With that level of performance and expense comes all kinds of contingencies, some predictable and many not so much; therefore, be prepared and enjoy.

I've heard quite a few people complain about heat soak in places much more north than I am so that was also a big concern when looking at the GBP kit. For reference I'm in northern VA where its regular in the winter to be below 20s and in summer be over 90 degrees. But in it doesn't get as humid as some places, it's usually just hot sun beating down in the summer. I heard some people talk about rerouting coolant lines through the throttle body but I'm not sure if that's the best idea since it also get's cold.

The coolant lines already route through the throttle body.

You should be fine so long as intake pipe is welded at the correct angles and the kit is Stage 1 or 1.5.

I think he was referring to the “throttle body coolant bypass mod” that people do.

My coolant lines are bypassed under the TB. No need for additional "heat" to that TB.

Ya, I did that on most of my TLs as well. But it doesnt do much for the car. The the TB still gets to neary the same temp via convection, and the rising heat from the engine keep it hot.

Looks good, is that the original housing? or replacement? could use one for my 2g kit.

This is the 3rd gen TL comptech supercharger kit. It's meant for the 3.2L. Engine is the stock 3.2L

yeah after that post i skimmed thru your progress time-line pics and figured out it was painted. at first glance it looked like the housing might have been replaced because of the color difference. looks very similar to the 2g kit aside from the inlet elbow and pulley width obviously.

The 3G TL kit's output shaft is a bit shorter than your 2G kit, as well.

While the 2G S/C is at 21.25". Darn I had my hopes up! So what could this previous work be?I'll take a pic of the 2g tonight.
