Suede Dashboard Cover

I own a 04 TL and I'm a victim of the cracked dashboard with just 63,000 miles. I called Fountain Acura which is where I bought my car from to see if it can be replaced w/o having to pay a crap load of money and I had no luck. They wanted me to spend $7xx.xx which included labor to have it replaced. I said the hell with that plan.

The crack is positioned near the passenger airbag. It started at just 4 inches, but in a week grew to 8 inches. I was getting sick and tired of seeing this on my dash. What gives, I got to say that my Ford Escort back in the day never gave me this kind of problem and that car had 80,000 miles. This is just ludicrous, I must say.

I checked on line for an inexpensive option to improve the look. I found this website called www.autoanything.com that sold dashboard covers for our cars. I got the brushed suede in black. It should be at my doorstep not until next week. Im looking forward in seeing how this will look on my dash. Anything now is better than seeing a cracked dash. The cover just cost $46 bucks with a five yr warranty , I figured I couldnt beat that deal

This link should direct you to what my dashboard cover should look like, not exactly but similar.

Tell me what you think?

post pics of what it looks like. I have concerns over the air bag on deployment. But logic also tells me that when that airbag pops it will move pretty much anything out of its way.

That cover will definately protect your dash. I think it should look pretty good. Looking forward to seeing your pics....

.. I'm with 20.. it's better than looking at those nasty cracks but still half as nice as having a clean looking dash.

Did you call Acura client services? You should. Complain louder, there is no reason they shouldn't cover more of the dash replacement.

1) Did you buy yours from the same website I'm getting my cover from?

2) Was the install pretty simple?

3) I see where the tweeters and the center speaker is located the cover is on top of them. Does the audio sound muffled?

4) The section where the air bag deploys is it perforated ?

is it just one of those dash matts or does it actually attach to the dash, like a bedsheet?

I don't think it will look good if you cut it besides the diference in sound is not to much!

they should make one out of leather, or better yet pull your dash and have it wrapped like an nsx

I was looking for leather but couldn't find it and if you wrapped the dash I don't think it will fit back

Doesn't look too bad.. btw guys.. real suede is leather, but that dash mat looks too thick to be real suede. Be real careful if you cutout the speaker sections.

Looks a lot better than I thought it would... Might look into one for my 04 for some prevention, even though my dash hasn't gone beyond just looking a little "ashy"- then it's time to bathe it in 303 again!

Looks the site defaults to the "carpet" one - click "shop by brand" to see the other varieties...
