Stupid map light

When you tried to replace the front map lights, did you guys have to take the entire homelink panel off too or can the clear plastic covering just pop right off like the rear dome lights can.

thanks

Just pop the clears off. Now the bulbs themselves...well, that's another thread.

The bulbs should come out without a problem right? It's not soldered in or anything?

nope, u can use a needle nose plier to take out the bulb, which is much easier. You can also try it with ur finger or soething else. Its easy.

one idea i've seen on the forum is to use rubber gloves. I took the reflectors out before i knew this. or loop something around the bulb so you can grab it.

Another idea I saw here was to use about six inches of electrical tape, fold it lengthwise, wrap the middle around the bulb, hold on to the ends and pull. I used this method to replace mine and it worked quickly and easily.
