Stuck Up 3rd Gen TL Drivers
Ever notice how much blood, sweat and tears we put into our modified machines, only to get ignored by other stock tl's. You would think they would admire the difference in our tasteful aftermarket parts but thats not the case.
Any one else been ingnored like this from tl owners?

Well since 90% of the TL drivers I see are Asian women, I can see how they might not admire the ride. Also 90% ( maybe less now that the TL is getting less expensive) of TL owners keep their completely stock, so they may not even know we are driving the same kind of car.

GODZILLA & 3G TL
Agreed...most people driving TL's that I see locally are older, so they probably don't care about mods.
I have seen an increase in 3G TL's with the aspec body kit in my area though...

ummm,... you shouldn't really feel the need to be admired. I mean, if I saw a TL on the Highway with fresh rims and dropped, I wouldn't rush to his side to desperatly give him two thumbs up, might aswell get on my knees and start sucking....
I mean, I see cars dropped with nice rims every day. Unless it's like a really amazing car, with like the most unique mods (and most mods done on the TL are interior, or under the hood anyway, Aspec lip kit is not a really unique mod), then i might walk up to the complete stranger and complement on his vehicle.

True.
Pretty funny my co-worker and I saw a 3G TL drive by on our smoke break. He said "Man, I like your model better"
I just nodded and smiled

"Old people" has nothing to do with it.
MOST people don't give two shits about your car; no matter what they're driving or how old they are. It's just not something that interests them.
That kind of person won't even notice you (let alone realize your car is not stock) unless you act like an ass.

If you're looking for a car to get attention in, there are lots more appropriate cars to drive than a family sedan.
I don't expect (or care about) attention no matter which car I'm driving, unless I'm at a meet. But the MR2 gets a lot more looks and smiles than the TL ever does, or will. Hell, even the CRX gets more heads to turn. Maybe because I'm in Minnesota and a rust-free celestial blue CRX is fairly hard to find around here.
Where I am, anyway, the TL is about as common as a Cavalier. You see 'em everywhere. When you have a common car, you aren't gonna get as much attention. That's why no one pays attention to the '57 Chevys at big hot rod shows. Sure, they're cool cars, but everyone and his dog has one.

I notice other TLers looking at my car sometimes. But always with a puzzled face as to why I am lower than them. And I have TL-s drivers looking down on me and shit sometimes because they are in a type-s or something.

Ever notice some stuck up 3g TL drivers that are all modded and riced out and expect everyone else to worship the ground they walk on because they think their ride is the shit?
ha, just bustin your balls, I couldnt resist the irony of the title/post

Most of the people driving a TL are more concerned about getting to work on time, paying bills, merging safely, where we're going for lunch, what's dinner when we come home, etc.
Looking at somebody who just wants attention because they have the same car as me is the least of my worries. I can appreciate a cleanly done 3g, but I'm over the whole jocking someone's car days...

When I first got my TL-S, I actually felt uncomfortable from other people staring. My TL-S looks good, and I enjoy keeping her that way. I like to make eye contact, but it was like "take a picture!" Never had this happen before
I have learned to ignore it for the most part (unless she's really HOT)
Mustangs are bad news. You make eye contact, and they're ready to race (or wrap themselves around a tree)
As for other TL's, I don't pay much attention to them unless they're modded.
If that's the case, I give them a thumbs up for lookin' good! I will also acknowledge other modded cars, whether it be a Corvette with a Borla, or an older modified machine
To be honest, I see alot more "older" guys pimpin' their rides than any other group.
To them, I say go for it

Seriously?
Agreed, most TL drivers are older and I bet 95% haven't even heard of Acurazine.
Why should they look at our cars and give us a thumbsup? I bet most of them don't even notice a difference or even if they do they may not care; I even would bet a good amount that a lot of them even dislike the aftermarket parts on some of the cars and think it is ridiculous to spend money on such things.
All a matter of taste, if they don't like it, who cares. But why hate on someone just because they have a different taste in something than you?

One on the right for me
The only car I will generally acknowledge is an older muscle car. Having put in a stupid amount of hours making my mustang look nice, when I see another nice car from the same era I understand the time commitment the owner put into the car in making look the way it does.
As for the TL. Good job, you were able to put some wheels on the car and keep a 3 or 4 year old car shiny.

Agreed with most of the comments. When you drive a TL you dont expect a lot of looks. I usually acknowledge well done vehicles. TL is a very rare site for me to comment on unless it is tastefully done. You want to see if your car stands out go to cars and coffee...most likely it won't.

People really don't give a shit like we do, but if I see a nice car "thats unique" I'm gonna tell the person nice freaking car dude.
BTW my town has the worst ricer bad mods per capita then anyone. Yesterday I spotted a 10 year old Ford Escort with jegs and msd stickers on the rear qt windows Big stickers to. I swear to God he also had a vtech emblem with a small Si sticker underneath it.
Went to Oreillys a little later and there was a older 350z with a Skyline emblem on the back.. I took pics with my Berry, so I'll see if I can get them up soon

Keep Right Except to Pass
I'm hardly "old" (37 next month), but I don't usually care for the look of a lot of the modifications people make, especially when they drop the suspension and use ugly wheels. But it's YOUR car, and YOUR money, so do with it as you like—it's no skin off my nose unless the TL were to become a popular car among ricers (in which case they tend to attract unwanted cop attention).
As a general matter, though, I think the TL is so common a car that your average TL driver doesn't tend to notice other ones. People on this forum have referred to the DC area (where I live) as "TL City" when it comes to the 3G TL (I note that the 4G seems FAR less popular) because there are so many TLs here. It's just not remarkable to see one. Compare that to when you drive a car that's no longer all that common—other people driving them will almost always wave (examples would be when I drive my 1988 RX-7 or my brother's 1974 Beetle...there just aren't as many of either of those on the road anymore).
