thats not the actual one i took out but its basicly the same. from that picture it looks like its suppose to have a rip in between... but idk... anyone that seen it that can confirm?

nd no dont have to take it out.. the first time went fine... others on this forum had done the same but without breaking anything..

Hmmmm, I've only baked my headlights once, and left everything intact. Maybe since you have have baked them several times you killed the bulb. You will most likely need a new bulb.......

You put your HID capsule in the oven?

The small oval part is the capsule where the arc is formed. There are no filaments or wires in that part, and if there is, that's why it doesn't work. There are electrodes on both ends of the oval part. When electricity goes to them, it creates an arc of light between them from the excited gases and vaporized halide salts.

You didn't touch the glass part of the lamp, did you? With your fingers, that is. Or did you get anything on the glass?

I was just going to say there is no filament in HID lighting, but 03CoupleV6 beat me too it with a very nice description.

I'm sure his oven did a lot more damage to the components did than touching the glass with your fingers. It's typically not a good a idea to stick electronic components into a hot oven and bake them (that's your problem).

Why would he upgrade to 6000k when the 3G TL has projector lights that give the perfect color output while having the optimum lumens at stock 4100k? Since your user name ends in UA5, I'm going to assume you have a 2G which is more understandable for color that people downgrade to 6000k. Yes, I said downgrade because AFAIC the loss in illumination is a downgrade.

Just a comment since I've noticed in 2G, people are changing them to 6000k to get that blue effect. I'm not sure, but aren't 4100k and 6000k about the same price? Anyway, mods never got to changing my name to UA6 since I got rid of the 2G and bought a 3G a few months ago.
