stock 08 tl vs. pontiac g6 gxp coupe
before getting my tl, i was considering getting a pontiac g6 gxp coupe.. i love my tl but sometimes i regret my decision a little bit just bc i think the pontiac is much quicker off the line.. just curious how do u think a race would go between both cars completely stock and AT

About the same hp, about the same weight, both FWD, but the G6 has more torque and makes it at a lower rpm. It should take you off the start and you may or may not run it down up top.
I forgot to add, G6 performance is nowhere near good enough to think about getting it over the TL. IMO, the TL is in another class. The G8 would be the edge of where it *may* be worth the trade.

dont get me wrong i love my tl i just see so many of them around where i live it would be nice to have something unique and fun to drive..ive only seen 1 on the road so far and it looked sick.. but as far as quality, i know the tl is far superior

To each his own. Looks aside, the TL is much more refined, handles much better, gets better mileage, has more features, and will have better resale value.
Personally, for me to buy a car in that class over a TL, it would have to run 12s off the showroom floor. Even the G8 gxp wouldn't be enough to sway me but maybe I'm biased since I own a fast car already.
In the end, it doesn't matter what we say, it's what makes you happy.

I'm having a hard time seeing the xshop between these two models. (The G8 V6 vs TL OR G6 GXP coupe vs AV6 coupe seem more viable.)

just for fun....i'll put it this way...
The only way you can attract attentions are from the two extremes: either look good or just down right ugly. Depends on what type of attention you're trying to get, the TL would be the former, and G6 the latter....
