Stereo Should Lower When Car Turned On
Anybody else find it annoying when you got the radio fairly loud and shut the car off. Get back in, turn on the radio and blasts at the same volume you left it?

So it doesn't lower automatically? I've wondered about this but never put it to test. I KNOW on occassions I've gotten in and it is quieter than when I left it. I'm also a creature of habit so I may unconsciously be turning it down myself right before turning off the car. I also put the OJ back in the fridge when my wife asks me to leave it out and shut the garage door when she asks to leave it open.

Personally, I wouldn't want it to lower by default, I prefer to have it set to same volume as when I turned the car off. (If only the audio controls would re-appear on the Nav screen w/o having to go through the disclaimer routine every time you start the car.)

Actually it does ramp the volume but it does it very quickly. The real problem is that this darned stereo is very easy to drive with blaring. With non distorted music the volume can be very loud since your ear quickly adapts to the volume. When you sit in there next morning, that nice tune level from the previous day is actually very loud.

Jerry Seinfeld has an old joke in his routine in which he asks with anger, Who is it that keeps going into my car after I park it and turning up the volume on the stereo?
And I know this is going to sound nit-picky (because it IS nit-picky ) but it isn't your EAR than adapts to the volume but rather your brain.

My wife's '97 Suburban would change it's volume, based on multiple different presets, based on how fast you were going. It worked great! Didn't have to change the volume down when stoped for a light or stop sign. I'm wishing my TL had this cause I do like it loud while driving. Of course given how much noiser that vehicle was you needed this feature more.

Gimmie a break...
Oh, Puleeeeze. Could you guys cut the TL some slack?
There are a few things in life, like wiping and turning your own volume down that are the driver's responsibility.
It's not a Rolls! It's a Nicer-ricer.

Actually, I wish the Tl had a mute button for the stereo, rather than using the volume down button. For instance, pulling up to a drive through or toll booth, it would be much easier to just hit the mute button to kill the stereo rahter than pressing and holding a button. I know it's not a lot of work to volume down, but I think a mute button would be faster.

If you are playing a CD or DVD, just hit the memery button of the number of CD you are listening to and the CD player will pause
