steering response: EL42 vs. others

One of the drawbacks of the car is that I felt I have very little steering response. At first, I thought it was the overboosted power steering, but others have suggested it's the tires.

For those of you who upgraded your tires, were you able to tell a significant difference in steering responses, especially at high speed?

On highways, I always feel uncomfortable with the steering at speeds over 80-90mph. I am thinking about upgrade to 245 instead of stock 235.

Some have suggested increasing the tire pressure as well. I have been purely too lazy to try this, but need to as I have also complained about the lack of road response from the steering.

Steering response and feedback feels nice to me, guess I drive less sporting than others do. I'm looking into Dunlops to replace my EL's this srping though.

I bought Potenza S-03s for my 6MT. The steering response is excellant. They also helped in many other aspects as well. My braking is outstanding and cornoring is much improved. The noise is slightly higher but the benefits of grip greatly outweigh this minor drawback.

Thank you for all for your feedback so far. What about at very high speed? Do you have the confidence that it properly gives you the feedback on the road condition and cornering?

I thought about driving these tires until they need to be replaced, but the warranty suggested they should last 3 - 5 years... I definitely don't want to wait that long...

The will not last more than 30,000 miles. If you're an agressive driver, you'd want to replace them after about 25,000 miles.
