I picked up my 04 TL, 5AT last week, and am enjoying it so far. The only thing I am not sure of is a knocking sound coming from the steering/suspension after having reversed the car from the driveway. I hear the knocking sound after putting it into drive, and driving for about 10 metres. The first time I didn't pay too much attention, thinking it was a rock or pothole on the road. Now I notice it every time I back out my driveway and start driving.

Anyone else have this problem? If so, is it normal or should I have it checked out?

 

It sounds while you reach 10 MPH? And, it only occurs at your first driving after parking hours!?

 

I hear it after driving approximately 10 metres (forward, not in reverse). I'm not sure of the speed, but it would be around 10-15 MPH. I notice it first thing in the morning, after the car has been sitting in the garage overnight.

 

sounds like the ABS braking system activating.
