Any of you fuckers own civics and troll yourself on honda-tech only to find yourself buying a shitty TL for a few bucks more than your civic and now find yourself here?

Well, we're all acura lovers, and the 3G crowd is a special breed. If you're looking for a forum that has an elite area where only those that own it would bother reading/posting/sharing/helping...you may want to consider a different brand.
Okay, for sh*ts and giggles...what if I'd told you that I had a heavily modified 2008 Acura TL so sectsay awesome panty dropping Type SSSSSS that I've heavily modified and you'd have not way to confirm it was older.
Would my opinion hold more weight? I'd be lying, but I guess that would make you think I'm cool enough to post?
LOL...point is, we all love the car...if you're looking for a which is better debate, there's a literal PLETHORA of threads that have gone that route too. If you want have good discussions, I just suggest you keep yourself open to anyone that's willing to bother coming in your thread.

But surely his 0.3L is +100HP and type-s badge +200TQ
and the 5speed slusher has gobs more power than your gear grinder. Not to mention his A-spec kit.. I mean shiettt.. that's the same kit they used for the nurburgring track record. The extreme downforce and turn in is like fucking rails.
Not the same.

Yeah I don't know if I could take anyone serious who calls the A-spec lip kit a body kit. I am just saying.
Honestly, you and Steven Bell should just PM each other back and forth. He's your man.
I'm guessing you're an older demographic?
Also, I purposely do NOT want my car to look like a type S. As a matter of fact, I've changed previous looks/mods expressly to define that it's not a type S. 2004 and PROUD.

Not sure why a base TL owner's opinion is more valid than a Type-S owner's.
Mine is stock (for now). It has been for the past year. I'm happy with it.
I'm happy with the way it rides - so I won't do any suspension mods.
I'm happy with the way it looks - I love the waffle rims, so I'm never getting aftermarket wheels. I'm not keen on the A-SPEC kit, so I have no intention of getting one. Wheel-gap doesn't bother me, so see above regarding suspension.
I DO think white LEDs would make the interior look cleaner - so I swapped them out. I DO think it could sound a bit more aggressive - so I'm seriously considering an XLR8 system later in the year.
As others have said before - do what you want. Make a list of what you like and what you think could be improved upon, if that helps your decision.

I wouldn't do power mods on any model TL. There's just so little gain for so much money. No matter what trim level TL you have, it can use a slight drop (just 3/4" from my Koni shocks made a huge difference in looks), you can have better suspension without compromising ride quality much if at all, the brakes can and should be upgraded if you drive enthusiastically even the Brembos (just pads will usually do), tires make the biggest single difference so I don't see how anyone can not go with the absolute best tires you can use.
I've tried to hide my mods, everything is very subtle partially because I don't want the Honduh ricer stigma. It sits a little lower. The big brake kit has non drilled rotors and black calipers behind stock rims, barely noticeable. You don't see the swaybars and shocks and all of the tuning that has been put into it. The tires are two sizes wider than stock and very soft but no non TL person notices it. The car stops and turns in supercar territory while looking 90% stock and quiet.
Everything I did to mine are the Big Bang for the buck mods that make a big difference on a base or on a Type S.
As for the condescending attitude, there are some of us original owners around that could look down on a second or third hand TL-S. There are manual transmission base model TLs that will consistently outrun a Type S auto stock to stock but I don't think looking down on other TL owners is appropriate.

IHC really tries to hide his mods.. especially when a big race is going down and some sucka is trying to figure out what he's running.

Hey ya'll. I don't look down on anybody with a base TL, 1st gen TL, 2nd gen TL, or honda civic for that matter. I asked a question trying to decide whether to mod my Type S , so I was seeking Type S owners just to see their results / opinions. This got blown out of proportion by one member in this thread provoking me and challenging me making a big deal of me having a type S. I only wanted to hear results or Type S modifications versus stock. I hope everybody understands. Peace.
P.S. the provoker and challenger is right below me here with a cursing comment again...see post #100.

the way you phrased the question is weird.
if you phrased it differently, you would have gotten better responses.

Thanks for such an informative and wise post, and I agree with what you are doing with you car. I like the sleeper look with modifications. I already have the suspension and brake modifications due to the Aspec kit. I will get some very aggresive sport tires when mine wear out and am considering getting the hondata flashpro and having my type S tuned at a local tuning shop here.
dummy.
in your words, you shouldnt even take his advice or even acknowledge him, well because he has a base.
you're such a dummy and you dont even know it!!

i mean, what else do you want to hear?
more people that want to stay stock? more reasons why each individual decides to stay stock?
each person will have their own reasons. but we have covered most of them; cost, preference, etc.
and its not limited to type-s' as its the same car.

I park near my buddy with a stock base 07
Honestly, it makes me realize that I am really happy I'm modded.
Then I add up how much money I've spent and realize I might have been able to buy another car for fun in cash with it.
Then I feel like a dummy.
