Congrats on doing something useless. Please post pics of the front of the car, as you must have yanked the "A" off the grill for the sake of consistency, yes? What about those rims? 4 "A" badges on them! How can you sleep? Yikes! That debossed "ACURA" logo on the front bumper? Better get a blowtorch out.

If you think taking the badges off makes the car better looking, you're crazy. All it makes it look is....drum roll please.....plain. You want to do something constructive with those two hours it took you to peel 'em, fill 'em, and paint 'em? Go volunteer at a local shelter or offer help to a retiree with his groceries. If Acura had intended to have a badgeless vehicle, they would have designed it that way.

Question for you A-Spec folks. When you debadge, do you keep the A-Spec one? Big moral dilemma, I know. Need to be badgeless, but $10k sort of justifies that sexy shiny badge now doesn't it?

GEEEEE, when I did mine it took all of 10 minutes to PEEL the badges off and maybe 2-3 minutes of waxing. Someone needs to do some research prior to running off at the mouth. And if I had an A-Spec, I'd peel that badge off as well. I guess your entitled to your opinion but know what you're talking about before posting.

And 10K for an A-Spec?????

To each his own, and 2 hours? Took all of 5 min! And that included looking fo rthe string to help peel them off.

As for is acura had intended... then what is the poitn of the after-market market? Sure seems silly to think a mfg. "knows" all about what we want, oh wait I forgot Microsoft does.. but thats a different forum....

how difficult is it to take off the badges on the rear? Will the "acura" & "TL" come off with no holes under them?

No holes. Maybe a couple of smudges of adhesive, easily removed with wax or a little rubbing. Won't cause scratches. If you want, you can heat them with a hair drier a little bit to make the glue soften, then use some string, thread, or dental floss (my favorite), work it back and forth underneath, and they will pry right off without fuss or bother. Then clean up the area, wax it and you are ready to go

Easy, take a piece of kite string and work it behind the badges then work it to the side and the badges will come off, the Acura badges tended to fall apart as it is flimsy plastic. There was a tad of the stickum they use left behind, I wiped it off, then washed it clean and laid down some more wax. Do not take off the A logo it has holes behind it.

undefinedKieth,
How long have you had yours? Mine is 3 weeks old and I still take pictures every day to see what I can do then delete those that I don't want. Lots of fun.

Wow I can read that down the hall...

I got mine March 2. I took initial pics, then after tiniting and now with deck spoiler. That will probably be it for a while as I prefer nature scenes.

The car looks good. The debadging is totally personal as much as the style of aftermarket rims you go for. I debadged my NBP and I like the look of the clean trunk lid. I also left the trademark "A" partly because I had to (drilled into the trunk lid) and because the symbol looks good.

Oh, another idiotic statement by 'doltjames' - nothing good ever comes out of his pie hole. Why am I not surprised that it was him.

you can do whatever you want with your car. I think debadging is pointless but thats just me. the hype over the SSM color though is ridiculous. it has no luster and looks boring in person and worse in pictures. infiniti silver [at least as seen on the fx] is much better. and mudflaps serve a purpose, far more than that lip spoiler which is useless. at least its not one of those stupid solar clothes dryer/wings though.

You know it's people like you that make me want to go back to owning my Vett again.....In the Corvette Forums atleast nobody gave you Shi* for what you did to your car or made stupid childish comments like this. Personaly I like the car being de-badged I think is adds an entirely new look to an already sweet car.....Boltjames keep your mouth shut if you dont have anything decent to say about someones ride.

Just my .02 worth.

Wow, so much anger. Maybe it's time to go back on Vallium. Anyway, I took the Acura lettering off my trunk and left the "TL". Next time you are driving, look at all of the German cars, Mercedes and BMW in particular. They have an emblem and the model number. They don't feel the need to spell out there name too.

:lol2: at getting pissed. Geez its his car, let him do what he wants. Some like the debadged look, some like to show off what car they have. To each his own! No need to rain on anyone's parade!

Good job on the debadging man, I love that clean look, I think i'm goin to yank the emblems this weekend

I am resurrecting this old thread for two reasons:

1. So we can remember bj as he used to be, in his prime, before he got deba--ed (and that is not "debadged" I am referring to).

2. So I can tell you all that I have un-debadged my TL. After a couple of months of enjoying the uncluttered look, I have decided it was time to replace the "ACURA' and "TL" emblems, because

a. People deserve to know what this beautiful car is, and not have to speculate
b. I think it looks good with the emblems on
c. I am proud to own a TL and want the world to know it

Has anyone done the emblems in "Black Chrome". I think that might look nice as well.

I just bought a silver TL Friday, and tonight I was standing there looking at the back wondering how it would look without the emblems. Now I know! Thanks for posting.

I like the mudguards as well. Functional AND I like the look, but that's just me. I personally don't like the debadging stuff, but that's cool if you do. Beautiful car though Keith, very nice.

FYI,

I just came back from Germany and most of the German carmakers (BMW, Audi, etc.) allow you to order the car from the factory without badges. They don't remove the main car badge (BMW logo for example) but the ones that indicate the model, etc.

I was told that they think it looks cleaner and also some don't like to advertise what they have. So on the autobahn you don't know if you're taking on a 530 or an M5. I'd say about half the German cars I saw there didn't have badges. Didn't see enough Honda products to know if they do that for the Euro models.

To each his own. I think it cleans up the car and cuts down on the clutter. It took me all of 10 minutes to remove mine and wax it. Soon as someone makes a aftermarket grille the A on the front grille is gone on mine.
