Which spoiler should i get?

i can decide on the wing or the lip

i am not getting the body kit, i may possibly lower the car and get the a-spec rims, but that won't be for a while.

which one should i get?

You should get the body kit, and than get the wing. There is no comparison with that combo! Best looking TL out there...

i learned my lesson about lowering the car then getting a stock kit, the driveways in staten suck, and you bottom out, so it's out of the question

I've always had cars (3 Accords) with the wing spoiler and thought I would really miss/want it on my TL, but after a few months, I've become accustomed to the clean lines... As such, I still would like something to make the car look a little different so I will be going with the lip spoiler... Guy on Ebay has good quality and good prices (About $180 or so shipped)...

Not to mention I want no parts of drilling into my trunk deck... The lip is double sided tape only... SOLD.

Bottom line is what do YOU like better?

i would recommend that you wait several months...ronjon's going to come out with a nice wing/spoiler so you may want to consider that...at least by that time you will have more options to choose from...

i personally have the deck lid spoiler on my car but if ronjon's spoiler comes out then i am going to purchase that...i think it looks HOT!!!

If you want more sporty look go with the wing.
If you want a more style classy look go with the lip.

or you want to save upto $500-$700, go spoilerless...

my last three cars have had spoilers (I couldn't imagine my 00 TL without one), but this car definitely looks good without one...

Here ya go.... I chose the lip spoiler because I didn't want to stand out too much. I am not saying the wing spoiler looks bad I just prefer the wing...

I purchased it off of ebay for about $170.

Just my

Go for the lip spoiler. I had one on my 97 Camry and one on my TL and it's perfect. It's a little understated but fits the classy character of the TL very well. But the choice is obviously yours.

Lip, much classier, cleaner, refined, understated. If I hadn't leased, I would have one.

I would say neither, but that's because I don't like spoilers. Too "rice" for my taste. But I find the lip style far less objectionable than the wing style.

Lip spoiler all the way!! it's subtle and sophisticated. I've never been a big fan of wing spoilers myself.

WING, the lip looks more like something old people would be driving(no offense). It doesnt stand up as much. Wings are sporty. I personally wouldnt do anything without the Aspec kit.

Does the spoiler at all effect the drag factor(for better or worse)?

Get the spoiler YOU think looks better. You're the one who has to live with it.

I think you should pick the spoiler depending on what overall effect you're going for. If you want to emphasize the sportiness, agressiveness, and power of the car, go for the wing spoiler. If it's the sophistication and luxury you like the most, go for the lip. or if you can't decide, don't get it yet. Or better yet, get another TL, and put the other spoiler on that one!

Go with the lip. Wings were cool 15 years ago, but now they look very dated. Plus every "sporty" crapwagon has a wing these days. If I had a dollar for every Neon, Civic, or Tercel that has a wing, I'd be driving a different Ferrari each day of the week.

Just giving this thread a bump because I have two weeks to make my decision between the two. I'm getting Anthracite and the full A-Spec but I am having the hardest time deciding on the rear end. I heard that the lip can go on without the bolts and just double-sided tape, so mabye I'll do that and change later, then again mabye I'll just wait until dealer finishes the ASpec install and get them to show both to me.

Any more thoughts with the ASpec?

I am very gullible!

I cannot agree more. It's up to you. I struggled with the same decision as you until I ordered my car. I chose the lip over the wing because I was looking for a classy, expensive car (e.g., BMW, Mercedes) look rather than a Mustang GT. Also, since I already decided to get the body kit, I felt that added enough sportiness on its own.

I really love the combination of the A-spec body kit and the lip. I think the A-spec + wing is overdoing it.

Went with the lip from ebay as well .. it's a great product, high quality, great paint finish:

Subtle enough not to make the car look like something it is not ...

I really wanted the ground effects with the wing, but two weeks ago I found a 2004 TL still new (40 miles) with no ground effects an a lip spoiler for $5000 off sticker so I bought it. I think the car looks good either way. And I have had two occasions I was glad I didn't get the front ground effects, I would have already messed it up.

Did a search... found this thread.

Peter I want to order that Ebay spoiler, got a linkee? I recall it being a pretty decent price. Did you use the tape it came with?

Thanks!
