Spoiler Install

Anyone try to install their own spoiler?? Are there any really big risks inherent in the self-installation?

By the way...its the decklid spoiler I am talking about

From what I've read, it appears as if the installation is quite easy if you've got some moderate skill in using hand tools. Seems as if the hardest part is getting that spring back into place that pops the trunk and this can't be accomplished without the special tool from an Acura shop.

Think we could install the spoiler and then just bring it into the service department and complain that our trunk doesn't pop up anymore and have them put the spring back into place with their little handy-dandy tool?

That might be my route and save the installation charge.

I was a little surprised to see that the trunk spoiler (not the wing one) wasn't just installed with adhesive.

Cool, it's very detailed. I saw Accord's installation tips two months ago in this forum. They're almost identical.

Spoilers are nice, but something about having to drill holes on the body just rubs me the wrong way. Just my opinion.

Which spoiler do you guys preferr deck lid or wing?

Obviously I like the deck lid...I'm not in a airplane trying to lift off, so I'll avoid high wings
