Splash guards--keep 'em or lose 'em?
We took delivery of our car and I didn't immediately notice that it had the splash guards installed that were not ordered. It's an Anthracite car, so they are not terribly obtrusive. The most damaged paint on the '92 Vigor we just traded in was on the rear bumper skin behind the rear wheels, so maybe they are a good idea. The installation reinstalls existing screws in the same holes in all cases but two where a new hole is put in on the bottom of the rear bumper cover. The car has been in our hands for three days. It has less than 100 miles in dry weather. So, I think I could remove them at low risk of damage greater than the two extra holes.
Do I take 'em off or leave 'em?!? Do I consider it a gift from the technicians?

I, too, just realized these were an add about a week ago after having the car for over a month. I mean I knew they were on there but it never occurred to me they were not stock. I think they look fine, especially with my Anthracite color, and they almost add to the look from the the rear.

I would just keep them on there if they are already installed. No cost to you and they do serve a purpose and do it quite well. I chose not to have these put on and specifically told my dealer not to install the guards. All personal preference I guess.

LGG,
Keep them, they also restrict the brake dust which comes onto paint and is very abressive.

I don't have them on my 04TL. I don't mind having them if they're free. All other cars I have are installed splash guards so far.
Just make sure you will never remove them in the future because they might scratch your paint finish months later. Otherwise, just remove them now if you don't want any scratches at all.

Keep 'em! Even though the color doesn't match on my WDP, they keep the side much cleaner. I had them installed a week after buying the car so I got to see the before & after.
Highly recommended!

I guess I like the look better without them--but on the Anthracite or NBP, think it's not a big deal, recognize the functional benefit, wouldn't have paid $100 for them, but for free and they're already installed, I guess they are staying. I think.
Thanks for the thoughts.
