Speckles in glass
Speckles in glass
Alright, I recently got my windows tinted and noticed slight speckles in the glass. I first thought it was in the tint but I also see it in my front windshield. Has anyone noticed this? It is very slight and you can see it the best when the sun shines on it. It looks similar to when you get tree pollen on your window. Yes I have cleaned both sides. It seems that it is inside the glass.
Thanks

It may be the first signs of glass etching or what I like to refer to as sand blasting. Auto glass is safety glass which is usually a softer kind of glass that is prone to etching. I have experienced this on every car that I've owned. In certain instances you can have this etching polished out of the glass.
You may want to consider getting either Roadblocker or Xpel headlight covers as well. Take a look at your headlights and you'll see this on the surface as well. The headlights are plastic so this will happen a lot sooner ( and look worse) than on your windshield.

After my windows were tinted my tinter pointed out to me that my windows are actually scratched, not the tint. He re did the tint on a window just to show and prove to me. There is literally scratches on the window from rolling down the window, hence, what is making the tint look bad.
