A-SPEC? or Wait?
I was wondering if its worth it to purchase the A-Spec package? I am really looking to just change the 17"to18" and change the suspension but I dont think you can do this seperately yet.
If I wait and do the parts outside acura, do i void the warranty? If thats the case I'd rather just go with acura parts.
Basically just looking for advice as to what to try - go for A-Spec and get all the under-body parts also or just maybe wait till they sell thing individually or just go ahead and purchase other parts on my own.
Thanks

Get the A-Spec
I never "talked" to an A-Spec owner that was sorry they went with the A-Spec package. What will the future hold? I don't know. I do know the A-Spec package was designed to work together, and in my opinion make a positive difference in handling. Is it worth the money? A-Spec owners think so, non-A-Spec owners don't.
You decide for yourself.

Well said...
Excellent observation...ASPEC owners love it, (most) NON ASPEC owners don't like it.
I'm biased, I like it., no I lOVE IT. But depending on your situation, it may be better to wait a year or two for the price to come down (if at all).
If you can afford it, why not get it. Thats my two cents...just like if you can afford to buy a VIPER or a Rolls, why not.
ONE DOWNSIDE...which one person mentioned, MOST dealerships don't have em available to test drive...you must take the word of this forum or faith in Honda engineering if you are that serious. Since the last time I went with a "Honda" tuned suspension was a Type R, I figured they had my trust..

Rumors say Acura may sell A-Spec separately, which is bad news for A-Spec owners. But very soon other vendors will start to sell those genuine parts of A-Spec into the market. Perhaps, this is why Acura likes to do so. My 0.02.

My dealership's service manager told me toda that they'd give me the springs/suspension/struts from the A-Spec for $1400 installed. I'll save $3600 on the plastic/brakes/alloy's that I don't really want.

JOKER- To be clear, there is no "A Spec Lite" package per-se. I just made up that name. The service manager at my dealership read me the cost of the parts to do the suspension fixes (lowered, springs, struts, etc) of about $500 and the cost of the labor for those fixes of $900. It would seem to me that if your dealer has these springs and struts laying around that they would do something similar. It's not an A Spec....it's just a lowered and better suspended TL with genuine Acura parts installed by your friendly Acura dealer.

Thanks for the explanation. I know of springs, but not of any other struts available at this time.
Can you look into what struts he is selling you?
Thanks in advance!!

JOKER- Will do.....he said he'd fax me tomorrow, so as soon as I get the list I'll post it here. He 100% mentioned springs, struts, 'bars' of some sort, and lowering the chassis. As soon as I get the list (with prices) I'll post 'em here. BJ
