I wanting to replace my current steering wheel W/ the A-SPEC steering wheel. I found it on eBay, but it doesn't include the Air Bag. My Question is can I use my current Air Bag with the new A-SPEC steering wheel? If so, can I do the swap myself? Or is this a project for the dealer to handle?

this wheel will only fit the 2004-2006 TL's! As far as instructions, I don't think the PDF that we used to use is available any more, but it should be included with the wheel.

what is the difference between the normal TL steering wheel vs the ASPEC? is it the carbon fiber steering wheel??

 

The only difference is the appearance. The particular one I'm looking at does have the carbon fiber trim. Other than the trim, there is no difference....

 

Off the top of my head i believe its got carbon fiber accents and the center is Y shaped instead of the normal wheel which has 4 posts

 

A-spec still has the 4 posts. I think only the TL-S has the Y shape.

A-spec is thicker with smooth black leather and then perforated silver leather at the 10/3 positions. As well there is blue stitching!

 

I think the OP is thinking of the accessory wheel. There was a wood one and then the carbon fiber one. The a-spec is described above.
