A-Spec Question
I have my TL on order...and I'm really torn...I really like how the A-Spec makes the car look and the performance that is adds to the car...I just can't justify spending $6000! I live in South Florida...has anyone gotten a dealer to make any kind of break in the price, or maybe even got one to throw it in? I just want to know if I should just let it go, or pursue the dealership to give it to me (or bargin with them)...Thanks ahead of time for everyone's thoughts...
Tell 'em you want it and what you're willing to pay for it. If they won't do it, shop around. They are already making a profit from selling you the car. Is there some unwritten law that they have the right to fleece you on accessories? They will damn sure give it a shot!
It's unfortunate that Acura has put the pricing of this kit in the hands of dealers. :rocketwho That's my only negative experience with A-Spec. The parts are great, but they are not worth 6K.
You can buy the kit off E-Bay for under $4000 (and those dealers are still turning a profit). You sell your take off wheels and tires and your at about $3K net. There are other install options if the local dealer tries to stick it to you. Worst case, that could be plan B. Good luck.

The dealer may have been pulling my leg on this but I was told that if you purchase the kit after you purchase the car, you only get the 12 month warranty instead of the 4 year warranty. But then again, 4 year warranty or no 4 year warranty, a few hundred dollars or more off the price would coax me to buy the kit elsewhere

Yeah, I heard that one too. They don't warranty the tires, the wheels aren't going to break by themselves, anything that happens to the steering wheel would be considered wear and tear, the only hazard the emblem faces is theft, and if the ground effects got damaged they wouldn't cover it. Hmmm, that leaves the suspension. I really don't expect the springs or shocks to fail any time soon. Can't see spending $2K to warranty $700 worth of parts.
Well, that's my take anyway...
