A-Spec Pricing

In general, what price is everyone paying for the A-Spec package installed by the dealership? Looking at purchasing everything at once in a month or two and don't want to be taken to the cleaners.

I have seen it as low as $3800 and as high as $5000. Some of the full a-spec owners will probably give you a better idea though. It is actually cheaper to buy the parts and install them yourself or have a shop do it. The instructions are pretty straight forward and as long as you know how to use a wrench, its not that bad.

When I bought my TL they wanted $6200 for everything. I laughed.

Since then I have done the body kit and suspension for a total cost of: $1800

Dealer here charges $5k...however, you can get them down from that with a little negotiating. The $3,800 cTLgo mentioned seems reasonable. Parting and piecing it from eBay will run you just over $4k, not installed. Shipping would be a few hundred dollars, too, depending on where you live vs. the seller...almost the $5k the dealer charges installed. However, if you want the full ASPEC but don't have $5k, in the long run, eBay will save you a few bucks and allow you to add the various parts and pieces as you can afford.

Here's what I've paid so far:

Suspension - $600 + $276 for install = $876
Body Kit - $800 + $280 for install = $1080
18" Wheels - $1100 (04 Gunmetals)
Tires - TBD but anticipating $600 mounted and balanced.

The breakdown is as follows:

Parts = $3050
Labor = $606
Total = $3656

Granted, I am missing the sterring wheel ($300) and the AT brake pad upgrade ($125), so add another $500 to the total and I would have everything for $4200.

I got mine for $4500 installed by dealer.
Remember if it's dealer installed its under the warranty.
This may not matter for some, but helped me make the decision.

And with the Aspec install at the dealer, you get all the original parts (17" wheels, stock susp, stock steering wheel...) back right?

Yup those parts are still yours...

Is it just me or have the aspec kits on ebay gone up about 200 dollars? I seem to remember them costing around 3800 dollars a few months ago, yesterday they were a touch over 4000. is this because the new wheels offered with the 05's?

Yes I got mine back, except for the suspension. That was adjusted to my purchase price. That was the first thing I asked about when the dealer started with prices for the A-Spec.
