A-Spec Kit Owners - Scraping Question

I'm starting to catch the mod bug, and that sucks

and it's all your faults

Before I make the jump though,

I'm wondering if , for those of you who own the A-Spec Kit

1 ) How much more do you scrape with them?'

I don't scrape if I'm careful on my base (enter driveways sideways), but the kit is has lowered pronouncely on the corners, meaning, I might make it worse entering sidways, correct?

Please let me know,

2) How do you deal with this hassle? (especially city driving and all its driveways)

thanks!

i wouldnt worry. i am lowered on aspec suspension and i have never scraped the kit, just the dangle flap underneath..but that is only affected by the suspension drop. the only thing you gots to worry about is parking blocks. i pulled up to one and one of the metal bars that anchors it in the ground was popping out and caught the corner.

Don't worry, the kit doesn't make your car much lower to the ground. I am dropped 2" with the full kit and I rarely scrape on my steep driveway.

I have to agree with paz840. I have the full A-spec kit with the suspension, wheels, and the steering wheel and I've never had a problem with scraping anything. 2" is not as dramatic as you would think. On the other, I have a good friend that had in Integra GS-R lowered 4 inches and that thing scraped on EVERYTHING. It was fun from a handling perspective, but it rode so harsh it wasn't much fun after about 30 min.

if you are at stock height and wheels, the one that usually scrapes is the flap that runs almost the width of the bumper just below the radiator.

ive never scraped my aspec front on driveways, its always that darn flap.

The TL is actually very nicely designed for good clearance even while having the tires tucking into the fenders. I have to be careful now cause I'm pretty low and have A spec, but it's not a huge concern and not as bad as most other cars out there.

So everytime I hear that abominable "KRKrrrr" sound, it's the middle flap scratching?

I guess it's just a warning sound more than anything right? Meaning it won't damage anything scratching just that

Yep...exactly...I scrape that thing all the time.
I wonder if it's there to visually make the front of the car look lower so you DON'T scrape the actual bumper.
You're golden. Go for it.

Its designed to force air upwards so that it goes through your radiator and engine compartment.

I think theres like 5 bolts that hold it on. I removed it, and I'm sure others have as well. Havent really noticed anything detrimental to the car

WIthout it though...when you stand at a distance from the car, I think it would look "empty" under there without it. It visually makes the car front look closer to the ground.

samplemonster, get the Aspec kit. There are tons of us here who are lowered with Aspec and we are fine, if you are stock height you should have no problems at all. Like everyone else said, the main thing that scrapes is that air deflecter in the middle. I scrape that thing everyday.

Doesn't make a difference in scrapeage. Basically if you go down a really steep drive to a flat drive you of course will scrape but Aspec kit vs stock = pretty much no difference
