A-Spec Kit Availability

A friend picked up a TL and we are struggling to source him a A-Spec kit. I've checked a lot of online vendors and I'm not able to find any in stock.

Anyone know where they may still be available? I never thought the day would come that they get discontinued.

Def not that long ago. I picked up one like 3 years ago from my local Acura dealer.

Still blown they got rid of it. Really transforms the look of the car. Understandable given the cars age though. They are also a PITA to store. The boxes take up a lot of space.

Are we sure it is discontinued or just out of stock......like so many OEM parts due to COVID/materials shortages. I see a few new OEM front lips on ebay currently. One had a manufacture date of December 2020. If they are discontinued, it appears to have just happened.

Regardless......they are spendy!

If you go to most acura parts sites most colors say discontinued, I have not looked for a very long time but it may have in fact been recent that all are unavailable. It is not a covid shut down thing. Most manufacturers used to stop stocking after 10 MY's it may have been reduced.

As of March 2020 the only Aspec you could order was 07-08 Type S front lip. On the used car market these item going for insane pricing...

E.G

Used side Aspec goes for $550 minimum, used rear Type S lip going for at least $1100. I am glad that I was able to stock some of these item not for that insane price tho.

PS people selling the Type S front lip on Ebay for $700 and it still selling like hot cake.

It almost seems easier/cheaper to buy a car that's in bad shape just to pull the kit and flip the car. I've seen some for $2500 - $3k.

Anyway, anyone have any experience in getting a good color match at a body shop? I assume it's nearly impossible unless you respray the car or have the kit blended in.

Yes I had to match KBP and color was spot on but a lot of factors go into a good color match
