With the front tires off....looking in the the wheelweld....it look like there is some kind of rubber mounts on both side of the car...they appeared to be slightly cracked...RON do you know what kind of mounts those are...and it is normal?

 

It sounds like you are talking about the boot set, the pleated cover which is #3 in the picture. This should not be cracked because they last a long time, but if this is the part you are talking about, you would see oil leaking if it were cracked. They look like an accordion, so that is normal if that's the part you are looking at.

If you have any doubts about it you should see the service manager immediately and get it checked because it could lead to complete failure of the axle, which is not only inconvenient but could be dangerous.
