Three Wheelin'
There were locking wheel lug nut removers made for garages initially because so many vehicles got dropped off for tire or brake work and the "key" wasn't in the glove box or had been lost by the owner. This tool looks like a socket but inside it has backwards threaded cutting ridges that screw on to the lug nut while turning it to the left (loosen). It threads on, catches and turns the lug right off the stud.

They got mine off my TLS 2 years ago. They left the car on bricks crushing the spoiler & rocker panels. Total cost of repair? $7,000 + to the insurance company. They love the TLS wheels, last year they stole full sets of them off several TLS cars at a local acura dealer lot in the middle of the night.
My friend is a parts manager at acura and said they can't keep enough of them in stock, apparently it's GREAT FOR ACURA BUSINESS!! These A holes sell them but I think most use them to put on their honda/acura cars.
I have to go to md next weekend & concerned about leaving my car at a hotel overnight. The other option is us using my GF's civiv but its a tin can on the highway & buzzy.

damn dude im sorry to hear that. i see this tis everydy wher i work. check your local pawn and rim shops coz these kids doin this are only out to make a quick buck. take the case nuber from the police report and bring it to the property manager and ask them whats being done to help prevent this problem from occuring again. like more lighting or cameras or a secruity company. best thingi can tell you to try and prevent this is parkin a well lightd area, lots of foot traffic an alarm and or buy a sniper gun and take them out fom the window =p
I'm down
This has crossed my mind, just don't know if I wanna do all five, I was thinking at least two or three
Ah, someone close to home, what's up man? Please do, I'm sure they will pop up somewhere
What's the point of having wheel locks if people can be roaming around with this shit?

Seriously, do searches on craigslist and ebay for the next couple weeks. After you search the first time save it to your bookmarks for easy daily searches. Also, call all the pawn shops within a few miles of your place to ask them to keep an eye out for them. The cops don't have time to chase petty theft. If you want the dirtbags off the street invest the twenty minutes it will take to make some phone calls and search the net. Good luck.

Yep, I don't know how you should go about figuring out if its the guy, but maybe ask some questions to see if he knows what hes talking about. Ask the other guy what brand of tires he had on, to see if they are the same.
Possibly even go check them out to see if he has the TLS wheels somewhere.

Np, would be awesome to see the thief get caught like this. This would be another one of those "power of the interwebz" stories.
Great, now im hoping that the tire brand does match, I want the guy who posted these wheels to be the thief, lol

Checkout ads etc? For what? I wouldn't waste my time. So if you do find a complete set what are you gonna do? Call the police? What will they do? NOTHING. Without a serial# to match up to your car you can't prove they were stolen off of your car. Police don't want to be bothered with it, they have more important things to do. When you have insurance to cover it the police don't care.
A few weeks after my wheels were stolen my friend saw a guy driving around in the same area in a honda accord with TLS wheels. He asked me if I wanted the plate# of the car, for what? I asked him. There's no serial# on the wheels that can be traced back to my car & even if there was the guy isn't going to take them off his car to show me & the police won't force him to. Acura should design a better safeguard against the theft of wheels but then again why should they? They are making alot of profit on stolen wheels! It's good for business

Had the Acura OEM wheel locks on, didn't stop them! The car is riding on cinder blocks and the plactic molding is bent up where the car is sitting. The front rotors are trased as they are sitting on them and who know what other damage, I'm assuming they just let the front end slam down.
DEFINITELY do this! can't believe it worked out in the end, good work nypd.

Honestly it probably wouldn't make a difference. I have no idea what these particular thieves used, but I do know that almost all tire shops carry a tapered socket that you can basically just take a hammer and pound on most wheel locks to wedge it on and then simply spin them off as if they had the key for them.

I know right! He was actually cool as shit!
Pretty sure I'm still gonna go with the stockers, I really like them
I do completely agree, I'm going to mark my next ones tho! Even if they did find them I wouldn't want them back anyway, they've been violated! I know I'm going to see them around at some point. So these wheels def don't have a serial number on them or anykind of marking that would put them to a particular vehicle?
This is what a friend of mine just told me, his dads a mechanic so they have these tools incase someone loses or forgets to give them the key, the locking lug is trashed after but what would thieves care about that for! It just sucks thinking that you have locking lugs to protect your shit and there are ways around it!

If I were you and saw them on craigslist, I'd inquire just for shits and giggles, see where they came from, why he's selling, etc. Maybe even go and check them out...any curb rash you know about? New tires, tread wear, etc? There's ways of telling if they were yours or not, even if it can't be proved legally.
