I usually take every chance I get at a stop light to light it up with who ever is next to me. I decided not to this time because I was not on my hands free talking on the cell phone in my 6MT TL with AEM CAI and Custon Exhaust setup. I pulled up next to a guy on his cell in a brand new G35X Light turned green as i gradually pushed my car, this guy obviously wanted to race. He blew past me. By the time I threw my phone down I was at the bottom of second gear and would have no chance of catch up even though I tried. His G35X was an auto. The one time I dont do it this guy is going to think he wiped the pavement with me. Should I feel bad? Sorry for the rambling but I know I would of taken him out and I should have. Now I just feel stupid. I dont want to give our 6mt Tl's a bad name!

 

Nah man its good a 6mt tl with walk all over a AT G35.

It's good you didn't risk trying to race him while on a phone. Good choice Way to play it safe

 

X!!!!!! thats the key word here. Even AT will smoke 35X! no worries there.

 

The all new G35X is either coming out, or is already out, and it will destroy the TL...including mine. No fear, I am getting the 2008 Lexus IS500. Can you imagine 5.0 liters in a pretty small car...vroooooommmmmmm.

 

No worri man , don u believe in Asian technic , one thing im for sure to tell u is there is no way that G35 Auto or Manual can whoop our Acura TLs man . Did you know that Nissan is the brand that always copy the others lolz

Lay off the crack pipe kid, g35 manuals are fast, not always faster than a 6 speed TL, but most likely could take a auto TL on a regular basis

 

The G35X in R/T posted a 14.4 sec @ 96.5mph (Link) so I imagine that if one got a slight jump on a TL 6MT, it could maintain that lead.

What really makes matters more interesting is that this was a brand new G35X (as was the one in Road & Track); most VQ35DEs (my 02 Maxima and 05 Murano included) do not get their "land legs" until after break in....so it will get quicker.

 

Why the big deal? It's not like you had the title on that race. It's just a random thing, and you can't even be sure if the guy were trying to race. Maybe he was just in a hurry.

 

At least you dint get a speeding ticket.

 

lol this reminds me of all the times im lined up at a stop light in my step mom's mdx and accords and such blow past me... i mean those things push but i dont even try and if you feel anything like i do.. theres just something weird about someone blowing past you even when your not racing.. you still feel a little pissed... dont sweat it though nobody cares nor would they have known about it if you didnt say anything... now all you gotta do is search some g35 forums n make sure no topics were started abt an AT g35x blowin away a 6MT tl lol

 

Haha no worries. There are enough of us on the board that have a nasty little habit of looking for G35's to mess around with. I'm sure he got his eventually.

 

lol!!! That is exactly what I have been thinking. Plus yea, it does tick me off when a mini van or something storms off from the line. You feel belittled!
