Some quick notes from visiting a dealership service dept...

The dealership is replacing my driver side seat cover due to my complaint
that it was wearing excessively at 40000km. The service advisor said she's
seen worse but will proceed with a warranty covered replacement. this is being done as I type so will post pix when the job is done.

secondly, wiper refills... $6ea..free installation..why not?

thirdly, I mentioned that the headlights were 'fogging' up internally with occasional condensation. the service advisor mentions that they shouldn't do that because they are 'vented' (??)... but will schedule an appt to take my car in and take off the front bumper to check it out.
(for the record, these are stock headlights - never modified. however, I DID remove them from the car when I installed my typeS headlights but after nixing that project, I put them back in and BAM.. ever since then I got condensation/fogging on rainy days-car washes.)

Sometimes when you uninstall/install the headlights, they don't get sealed properly. It happens.

Keep us updated.

also.. a completely 'redesigned' Acura CSX (cdn market) will be available
for the USA as well. According to the sales guy, this new design will
attempt to move away from the similarities to the civic. This is planned for
the 2012 model year.

The fogging is your fault most likely.

Glad the dealer is taking care you.

seat comparison pix. they replaced my driver side..but NOT my passenger side. i noticed that the new seat side bolster area features a more durable leather but maybe its' just me?! its like they didnt wrap the seat too tight with the leather. perhaps giving it some room to not wrinkle up like the original? anyways i'm not complaining as its nice to sit on a brand new leather cover lol.

time to search out leather conditioner threads!!!

original passenger side (starting to show wear)

new driver side (note the side areas of the seat)

That is very minor wear. I'm very surprised that they gave you a new one.

From seeing the picture, I don't think you really take care of the seats anyways. (Opinion, don't get worked up )

My seats look like total shit but then again my car is almost 7 years old and has 92k miles. A good friend of mine has a 2008 TL with 28k miles and his seats almost looked as bad as mine. He took it to the local stealership and they replaced them under warranty.

just to correct my pic posting. the first pic is the current passenger seat which was not replaced.. the 2nd pic is the driver seat.. i failed to take a pic of the worn driver seat so i really dont have a before/after pic.

regarding the 'seat caring' ..well, i'm the 3rd owner who picked up the car at 37300km so i didn't have much control over that.. but fer shure.. going forward i'll get the best leather conditioner i can lol!!!!!!!!

Pass seat looks like my driver and pass.
Now it would bug the hell out of me if i had one new cover and one wornish cover... maybe you should replace the pass. side as well.

update. both headlights replaced under warranty. all it took were photos of the fogging and that was enough for them to get authorization to replace them. They told me if my rear tails fog up .. just take a pic and email it and they will also replace them.

when i get the 'follow up' email from corporate i will definitely
give this dealerships service dept a very very favorable review.

mind you, it helps that they know i've leased 6 cars from them since 2002.

whoa.. HUGE update.. MINUTES after i posted the above.

dealership
called me to let me know one of their techs inadvertently scratched
my bumper by dropping it (along those lines). They will send it off
to a body shop and it will be fully taken care of and also issue me a loaner
vehicle.

question: should i be worried about paint matching? paint quality?

this is an acura dealership so i'm assuming they know their stuff and deal
with er.. reputable bodyshops???

i do appreciate that they acknowledged it and contacted me but i haven't seen it yet.. will post pix later.

should i ask for a complimentary oil change or something ??

Leatherique is as good a leather restorer/conditioner as you will come across. Having driven old Mercedes for a long as I did I can't begin to tell you all the testimonials I've gotten from folks I trust. Also the before/after pics are amazing!!

Seems like I got mine from Amazon, but I might have gone through their website.....

I want new seat covers so bad. My front seats are wrinkly. Not worth the couple hundred bucks as I'm out of warranty. Glad to hear the dealer hooked you up.

As for leather conditioner, leatherique is the best you can get, IMO. But ideally, a steam extractor would be best. It makes leather and upholstery look brand new.
