Does anyone know if the base software that operates the Nav System is upgradable. The software that I am reffering to has releases such as 1.03, 1.04 etc...

Obviously NAV database and the NAV loader (ex. 3.10 to 3.30F) are upgradeable but nothing has been said on how the base operating software can be upgraded. Can it be done by dealerships???

 

I believe that the answer is yes, at least to some level. There was a thread here where somebody took the Navi DVD (Which contains the Navi systems for all Honda/Acura products) and installed the Honda Navi system into their 04TL.

Yes I believe it is also. The previous gen cars CL, TL etc have a new disk that was released late last year that changed quite a few features. It actually (either upgraded the firmware or the entire os) most of the peopole that had the upgrade remarked about the magnitude of changes the upgrad did.

 

As I said, there are 2 different software packages on the TL. The base OS which has releases like 1.03, 1.04 and then there is a NAV OS which has releases like 3.10, 3.30F etc. I know that the NAV DVD upgrade will upgrade the NAV software but there no information on whether it will upgrade the base software

 

do you think the base is upgraded by a flash when they give us he upgraded discs? which navi version you have? i can check my car and see if it changed since i have a 2.11b. i'll check the os release on my car.
