Sliding Arm Rest??

Hey I was wondering ifg your arm rests slide forward over thecup holders. Mine do, Ive always ment to ask but always forgot. It seems normal and it gives your arm a place to rest for SS mode. Is thisa genius innovation or a broken arm rest? Thanks!

It's a genius invention. Comes in handy for comfort on long trips. Had it in my 2G TL as well.

However, do note that there is a bit more "play" in the armrest as you slide it to its most forward position due to the "levering" effect. I only slide it forward to it's first position to minimize this. If this should not be the case, than someone please tell me so I can get mine fixed at the dealer .

Mine doesn't have any "levering" effect.

Neither does mine...and I use it all the time because I like resting my hand on it, while shifting.

Oh, I see. Maybe I will have to dealer take a look at it when I get my oil change. Guys, by levering effect, I am refering to the center console armrest portion actually "dipping" down a tiny bit when extended to its most forward position. It's OK in the middle position where it only covers one of the drink holders. But if you pull it all the way forward, it will move downwards about 1 to 2 mm when I lean my elbow on it. It's almost as though there is a little play in the tracks.

That should be normal. I don't think I would notice a 1 mm movement downwards.

Thanks, PoochaKannInc. I might go play with one at the dealership if I have the chance but I also think that it's normal. A little play should be expected especially with a longer lever arm. I'll report back once I get a chance to check out another TL.

I just wish that they were a little higher or tilted up like my old 92 Accord EX did.

I wish we had something to rest the left arm too and a little higher than the place in the door. I'm resting mine on windowsill and am getting a dent there.
