For single car owners: biggest step up into TL?

Mine was kind of a step sideways. I came from a 1999 Saab 9-5 Turbo V6 with 90,000 miles on it. In a couple of ways, the Saab and the TL are similar: V6 with great midrange power, exterior profile, length, weight. The TL is more softly sprung and is MUCH more quiet and smoother running. Gadgetwise, the Saab didn't have navi, voice control, HID lights, and a few other minor things, but it did have a great audio system, lots of quality leather, heated and COOLED seats, and a fold down rear seatback. AND, nary a squeek or rattle. But that was yesterday..........I love my TL.

I went from a 1998 Camry V6 which was good to a 2005 TL with navi, which is outstanding. The drive is better, the interior & comfort level is better, but the electronics are what really makes it outstanding & in a totally different class.

I had a squeaky integra 91, now have an 05/6MT/NAV/Anthracite. I would have kept driving my 91 but somebody totaled it when it was parked. Then again, all my friends told me I should have bought a car a long time ago. It's taking a while to adjust, but I'm enjoying it!

An interesting thread with a lot of Honda owners.
Our '04 replaced my wife's '90 Civic LX. She was the original owner and it finally blew a head gasket after 14.5 years of loyal and dependable service. The Civic was a great little car, and the TL is still a tremendous difference.

Well, I traded in my '96 Infiniti I30 for the 04 TL 6MT/Nav, but my Infiniti had about 203K on it, so it was heavily driven. The Infiniti was actually my trade for my '94 Mitsubushi 3000GT VR-4, nasty 6sp AWD Twin-Turbo vehicle. The TL is better than the Infiniti, but the VR-4 still has a bit more performance than the TL. So I guess it's more of a sideway slant step.

Bought an '89 Toyota Supra Turbo brand new in Dec '88. Drove it for 15 years and 165,000 miles until I got my 2004 TL last Thanksgiving. Still have the Supra. Supra was (and is) a great car, but cars have come a long way in 15 years.....

Vroooooom....Vrooooooom!!
I have a deposit down on an 05TL, 6SP, Anthracite/Quartz that the dealer said should arrive in December! I am currently driving a 1996 Honda Civic DX 5SP with 140,000+ miles on it! This is a huge jump for me and I cannot wait for my new ride.

I can't beat the 77 Dodge, but I just traded up from a 1987 Accord DX (bottom of the line) with a dented front end to an 05 TL. The funny thing is that for the last 8 years, I've plenty of money to buy a nicer car, but it took until the TL for me to find a car that I liked enough to upgrade. That Accord was a great car for the $. Now maybe I can get a date
