Silver or Anthracite?

Well I sold my CL-S but I'm replacing it with an 04 or 05 TL 6-speed with NAVI. Here's the problem though. I had my heart set on Anthracite but I'm having problems finding one. I'm not in a rush to get one but I would like to get one soon. The only TL I found w/ 6-speed and NAVI was a Silver (The initials are SSM right?) 04 TL w/ 10k miles. I found a dealer willing to sell it for $29,400 w/ extended warranty. It's a good price so I'm tempted to get it. Should I stick with Anthracite or will I be happy with the Silver? (By the way my CL was silver).

i ended up getting the silver because of the lines of the cars.

I LOVE Anthracite, but when i had the dealer pull up both cars side by side, the darker shade of anthracite hid the lines of the car.

Simple lines like the cut lines on the side doors that go from front to rear, hiding the handles some what are more visible with the Satin Silver.

Lines are more visible with Satin.

The TL have certain lines you want to show off, that my reasoning.

either way its a TL, get one.

I chose Anthracite because it tastes good, it's less filling, and it's safe for diabetics.

I may be a little biased...
bbut I say wait for the AM!!!

Not just cuz i own one, but becuz that is what you want.
You may regret it later.

Note: AM closer to Black, better shine, but more work.
Silver less maintenance, but not equal in shine.

Some say the TL has too many lines
Whichever TL color is less common is what I'd do. My anthracite CLS is nice and rare, only offered in 03 models. The TL has had both colors every year AFAIK.
Both look good but silver is a more common color on all cars.

Ssm!

SSM looks very clean aesthetically, with or without body mods. Also shows dirt less than Anthracite.

I currently have a Silver car and I'm picking up my new '06 Anthracite TL tonite and I'm very excited.

I thought about getting a Silver, but wanted something a little different. For me, the Anthracite is a very nice color, also I see it less frequently than the Silver in my area.

Regards

When I was looking at new TLs on the lot recently, there were literally a dozen or more silvers. Overwhelmingly more than any other color.

But even if Anthracite was most popular, it just rules.

There is an Anthracite '04 w/6 Speed at Harrison Auto Sales in North Hundington, PA (just outside Pittsburgh). I looked at it yesterday. Not too close, because I was in a hurry & am looking for an auto car for my Girlfriend. For me, It would definately be a 6 Speed. It does not have NAVI, though. Here is a link to it:

Thanks for the help but I'm not driving 6 hours to look at a car. And it would have to be NAVI. I'm not sure though. I like Acura's silver but I love the Anthracite. Maybe I'm just bored with the silver b/c I had it. But the price is really good and I don't know if I should pass it up.

My vote is for anthracite...I love anthracite. My only wish would be that it was a little darker. There are way to many silver cars out there IMO.

I also like the dark blue (could also be a tad darker).

Here is my list of color preference (in order):

- AM
- RBP
- NBP
- ASM
- WDP
- RRP
- DMM

AM is faster !!! ..... so make sure you get the V-1 to go with it.

I love mine and if that is what you want, wait for it.

I wanted to get silver 6 speed and navi, but I had to wait 2 months for it. Then I looked at the anthracite and I think its better than silver IMO. The color keeps growing more and more for me. Both colors hide the dirt easily and with the ebony interior....damn thats nice!!

Anthracite all the way. Nine months and I still love this car. I'm sure some people think I talk about it too much. Say, did I tell you about my car..................

Get the anthracite...is what you want. I personally like SSM better...but get what you want...don't settle...this is too big of a commitment to settle on, money wise and consider how much time you spend in your car.

Between those two colors I would go with Anthracite (I was torn between AM and NBP, but the only 6-speeds on the lot were silver and black, so I went with black. If they had AM in a stick wen I was shopping, I easily could have gone that way..........)

Any way we could get you to come over to the dark side?? (NBP?)

I am currently waiting for an 06 silver/quartz, manual w/Nav to come in to my local dealer. I like the silver because, as already mentioned above, I feel that it shows of the lines of the TL better. I also think that it won't show road dirt as much as the darker colors.
The bottom line is, if you have your heart set on athracite, wait for it. You won't regret it once you have it.

You don't have to worry about that. I already own a boosted 99 Accord with Flamenco Black Pearl. Black is great for about the first 60 seconds after you wash it; it shines like no other color. But then the 60 seconds of glory have passed and it looks like it needs to be washed again.

I have the SSM/ Ebony combo and it is really sweet. Silver is generally the most popular color for most auto manufacturers. It is typically the feature color on the car in the brouchures and that only adds to its popularity.

Some go away from silver simply because there are so many on the road but I think it provides the best balance...it's rich looking, sporty and easy to take care of.

If your going to spend 30k on a car get what you like! Nothing worse than making payments and regretting that you you failed to get what you really wanted.

I'm partial to silver, because my '03 Type-S is an SSM. But man, I do love the anthracite on my brother's '05 6-speed.

Tough call...

I know... paint it two-tone!!

I have decided for now to hold out for the Anthracite. I may have to just order a new one b/c I'm a little picky. I want Anthracite, a 6-speed transmission, and NAVI. So I may just have to order new. I'm going to take my time and find one used and save up some $ to put a deposit on it.

Definitely AM. Silver looks too plain because of all the other silver cars out there.
That was why I chose it.

I know I am a little late on this but...

I am not going to lie when I first looked at the TL I wanted the AM. BUT I dont know if this matters and those of you out there who know I am sure will educate me...BUT

Isnt the 2004 silver different from the 2005 and 2006 silver models? I think it makes a diefference. When I first went to see the car I looked at 05's and the silver just did not grab me AT ALL. But (i went throught a car broker) when he brought the 04' Satin Metallic Silver over...i was like...OH MY GOD!!!!!

yes Silver is a VERY common color of cars out there...but there is just somthing about that Metallic silver on the TL and the lines of the car and those side lights that just POP esp. at night!
