Side Mirror Heater Button Question
Side Mirror Heater Button Question
I just purchased my 2004 TL in Black and I noticed that the side mirror heater button does not light up at night. The orange light goes on when you press it. Is this how it is supposed to be or do I need to get this fixed? I am also having trouble with programming my homelink to my garage door opener (it is a chamberlin about 8 years old non-security +). I have tried to program it and the light blinks slowly but not rapidly and it does not seem to take.
Any help would be appreciated.

Try this web site for the programming. It's the Homelink web site:

I had the same problem with my 15+yr old opener. When I followed these instructions, it worked the first time.
Good luck

One thought on the opener--are you using the original clicker, or an aftermarket one? It made a difference for me. I had a three-button Clicker brand remote for the opener (so that I could open my door, and the gate at the GF's apt complex) and it would not program the HomeLink. When I dug out the original remote (big clunky thing) it worked fine.
the heated mirrors will not engage till you push the button (which is indicated by the orange button), at night, when your parking lights and or headlights are on, this button DOES NOT light up... kinda dumb, its hard to find, but just one of the functions that doesn't light up
Torca - been a while, but I don't think the manual says to turn the key on before programming, it took me about 2 weeks to figure that one out. Turn key to Aux 2, (right before the starter engages) clear memory on all three buttons and start over, hope that helps.
