just start your car, put the blinker on, and step outside to check

They do not blink. Just light up, however members on here have gotten them to blink with the signals. They can chime in about that.

OK, chiming in.

Done with 2 relays and 2 diodes on each side requiring removal of the inner fenders inside the wheel wells to access the wiring.

In reality, the turn signal mirrors on the '07's and '08's should have been standard since '04. The 1st 3000 3G TL's produced had "Turn Signal Mirrors" listed on the window sticker even though the cars came without.

yea but the colors are slightly different and the signals wont work without having them wired into your turn signals

you wouldn't like the whole car because of the sidemarkers blinking?

So you like it now where the guy going for the same lane as you on the highway has no clue you are about to move? Trust me, blinking side markers are perfect for letting "the other guy" know what you are doing. My last car had them an it pretty much eliminated those awkward moves on the highway where each person goes for the center lane at the same time.

gerzand's thread is quite nice since it spells illustrates how to do it with very easy to find parts.

Perfect man!

I'm going to have to check out your ride... Its been a while since we've got together I'm looking forward to spring time.

Adobeman, I couldn't have put it any better. My Mazda had it and it was a nice feature. When you're going for a lane change an you're in spot where the other driver can not see your front or rear turn signal these come in handy. A much needed safety feature IMO if you don't have the side mirror signals.

OK, that clears that up, most of us here have the earlier models that don't have the side mirroe blinkers.

With this mod the side markers are still on at night. The blinking is as follows: lights off, side markers blink on. Lights on, side markers are on and blink off. Basically the blink is the reverse of the non-blinking state. Follow ?

Adobeman,

Since they're may be some here who aren't bright enough to follow the way you laid it out, let put it another way:

When the parking and/or headlights are off, the sidemarkers blink in unison with the turn signals. When the parking and/or headlights are on, the sidemarkers which are accordingly already on, blink in reverse, or go into an alternate blink with the turn signals....parking light turn signal on / sidemarker off - parking light turn signal off / sidemarker on. That's the way GM used to wire those things in the old days.

Hope this irons it out for everyone.

The only catch is those sidemarkers can be hard to see in direct bright sunlight. I still believe Acura should've put turn signal mirrors on the '04/5/6's as well as the '07/8's. Sidemarker turn signals is something every car should have in 1 form or another as they may be the only way some neighboring drivers could see your lane change intentions on today's heavily congested roads. Notice EVERY European brand car you see made within the last 15 years or so has them?
