Should I Worry?
Hey fellow TL-ers,bare with me here. I'm currently 16 and just got my license. Currently, we have an 04SSMTL in our family that is my mom's daily driver. Hence, its an automatic . My parents have planned on giving it to me when i enter university as a gift, so around 2 more years to ago. Ive tried numerous times to get my mom to use sportshift, but no cigars. Therefore, the TL's sportshift won't be used for 3 years until I take over! Is there going to be a problem? Am I just being paranoid? or...

j/k, it's not gonna be an issue, don't worry.

The only thing I could think of would be that the car learns your driving style and from what I understand can shift in auto mode accordingly. Correct me if I am wrong. I know you dont get it till colledge, but are you ever allowd to use it?

Cool, how long does it take the car to learn. If say, i shifted at 5000 rpm in manual all the time, would tha car instantly start doing that, and would it be at that high of an RPM?

No,
Like crazymjb said, it learns your driving style while in "auto" mode. For example, when I first picked up my 04TL it would downshift easily and often with not much gas peddle movement. IE, while in drive and partially passing/accelerating it would downshift quickly and speed up nicely. After numerous months of driving my commute like a gramma it basically "adjusted" itself for that. Now when I do get aggressive with the gas peddle while in drive, the trans appears to hesitate and hunt for the proper gear etc. It's almost like the trans is saying: Hey wait a minute here,,,,! I'm not use to doing that!!!
Anyway, while in SS mode, with exception to the 1 to 2 shift, you are in control!

Somewhat depends, but I can attest that even under full throttle it doesn't wait until max rpm/redline...
I really haven't "experimented" enough with SS mode to give you the best "answer". I'm sure many other members will fill you in though :-).

Holy smokes! You really had me there for a few seconds. Yup, I do get the car to myself friday nights and through the weekends. So.. what do you guys say i should do to get the car adapt to "more agressive" driving? or should i even word it that way?
