Question Should I wait for the Type-S?

I will buy an Acura TL by the end of the year. Should I wait for the Type-S?

How much more $ is it than regular + A-Spec?

What are the pros & cons?

Thx

Well pricing was set at around $39k for the Type-S and it depends on where you live on the A-Spec. It is cheaper to get all the pieces afterwards and has the shop of your choice or do it your self. I know here in San Diego there is a full A-Spec 2006 sitting on the showroom floor priced at $49k

If you want and if the Type-S is in your budget then I would wait. Even if not, I would probably wait for the 2007 and not get a 2006 because the 2007 is supposed to have an upgraded NAV and Bluetooth system. If you don't care about that stuff you can probably score a hella deal on a 2006.

Don't buy the first year of a new model. Plenty of pain posts to be found in A'zine.
Unless you love to be the early adopter/beta tester.

This link was posted not too long ago on a different thread for the 2007 MSRP

http://www.hondanews.com/CatID3000?m...58708&mime=asc

With some rough calculations, I figure if the MSRP on a 2006 TL w/navi is $35,325 and people are getting them for $31,500, which would be about 12.5 % price reduction. So if the MSRP on the 2007 TL Type S is $38,500 (about that), then after negotiating with the dealer, take 12.5% off that and shazamz you got yourself a new 2007 TL type S for $33,687.5

I agree with you, and I would not buy a new model. I don't really consider the 2007 a new model. It has some new electronic upgrades, but the platform is still the same. The 3.5 engine, is not really new to Acura either.

I don't know.... when the totally redesign the platform (Gen4), I would not buy the first year. I would probably wait for the 2nd or 3rd year.

I also agree, not really look at it as a new model either. The engine is just new for the TL. Worse things is that the Tranny can't handle the bigger engine, but I don't see that happening.

"TRQ" = misspelling, or intentional shortened spelling, of "torque."
Lots of shorthand on this site, some of which is not standard. Some people using phones to post also intentionally skip vowels. Typos also occur when people type quickly and don't correct their mistakes.
