Should I buy the 2008 TL-S?
Hey whats up guys im going to get a new car this week, at first I was going for the 09 TSX but now I see that I can get the 08 TL-S for right about the same price, ( I have a friend that works at carsdirect.com), my mom has an 04 TSX and I really like it, but ive never road in the TL, I just wanted to get some feed back from you guys and see what you guys think of the TL since you do own them, you know like the good and the bad, I've done my homework and the only downfall I really found was the turning radius, Thanks!

TL
Pros - Bigger, beefier, quite ride, more gizmos and gatches, more power, sexier imo.
Cons - MPG!
TSX
Pros - Smaller, has all the jdm/edm stuff for it, better tracker imo
Cons - under powered, not quite big enough for me... (250lb, 6'6"), not near as quite...
I know they made the 09 tsx wider, and added weight (250-300lbs?), yet didn't change a damn thing on the engine....

All I want from the TSX is the USB capability...
but TL-S all the way...speed, power, seating area, gadgets, and 2004 technology (lol)

TLS. Yep, the new TSX gains weight but not power. Only torque, although quite a bit. If you don't mind the final year of 3gen model, go for it. + you get additional price cut since Acura needs to get rid of them for preparing 4gen TL.

I had a 2nd gen (TL-S) and a 3rd gen (TL). I was disappointed in the 3rd gen. Poor build quality - many rattles and speakers buzzed on and off from day one.
I'd say the 2nd gen was a better car, but that one was on its 3rd transmission in less than 5 years, while no engine issues with gen 3.
I'd wait for the 2009 if at all possible. There's two ways to think about it, yes, you get a lower price on a 2008 TL-S, but its worth less too since your car is a year old on the day you buy it. That and a generation change is going to affect resale. So I think all that evens out with any discount you'd get.

I liked the first TL-S (2002) so much, I bought another one (2007).
No Regrets.

The TL is so much better it is not even a fair comparison if you can afford the TL-S then OMFG get it no question.
I had a TSX loaner 08 model for a week, its just not the same.

Stand For Something
I just got mine 5 days ago and I couldn't be happier. However, I have to say, I do miss how fun my Mazda was to drive, it was much lighter than the TL-S and the handling was crazy; plus I loved breaking necks everywhere I went. But... in time... I will also break necks with the TL-S...

I have had my TL-S for a month now. I have driven both cars and I liked the TL-S better. I am very happy with the car with the exception that the door panels scuff easy. Just be careful entering and exiting the car (make sure you tell your passangers as well). Other then that I cannot complain. The ride is great and has a good amount of power. The car is very comfortable and has only 1 minor rattle.
