Should I bother with these 2 'warranty' related claims?

OK..so the 07 has a few minor issues...wondering if i should bother?

1. When interior lights are on, the XM/AUX light seems dimmer than the rest of the surrounding lights. i wouldn't say considerably dimmer but does it mean it's on the verge of burning out?

2. the lip spoiler was purchased and installed at a dealership. however, it appears one side is slowly 'coming off' as the 2sided tape they used has lost its 'stickiness'. since it was installed at the dealership, i assume i can take it back to that same dealer and have them redo it? the former owner has provided me with all service records including the lip spoiler purchase/install receipt.

warranty expires june 2011 so i figure i should do something OR dont bother?

give the first one a shot. it doesn't hurt, but know that they cannot switch out individual leds behind buttons. instead, they would have to order you an interior new stereo piece. the second one is an "of course"

I agree- try to get those items fixed-especially if they are covered by a warranty

i tried claiming the second one on a part that used two sided tape, and they told me that they couldnt do anything about it because it looked like someone pried it off. I said bullshit, but they still insisted and the warranty did not cever it. so i just went and ifxed it myself.

well.. today i took issue #2 to the dealership that did the install of the lip spoiler. They said that installations only have a 1yr warranty if the dealer did the install of an OEM part IF it was purchased after the car (installation was done june 2009). IF the OEM part was installed as part of the new car purchase, then it would have the same warranty coverage as the car.

LAME. anyways, i'll wait till it dries up a bit (been raining alot here) and perhaps apply crazy glue to the adhesive underneath the portion of the spoiler that is not sticky anymore.

Lol don't apply glue. Just get some 3M double sided tape and re-apply it.

Personally, I wouldn't want any dealer tearing into my interior for something as minor as #1. When my window regulators went bad, that was one thing, but then I made the mistake of having them change a $20 door speaker under warranty. They ended up breaking one of the door skin grommets.

x2 i wouldnt bother with the dealer ripping everything up for 1 ... its gay that they are not covering 2 when clearly it is an install problem and thats y its coming off ... just use some double sided tape and reinstall it urself

I would inquire, at the dealership, about #1 and definitely have #2 fixed.

I wouldn't bother with the light issuse. It's not really an issuse but wait intill it fails then they will warranty the light as long as your still in warranty. As for your A-spec lip no matter how many times your going to fix this the double sided tape will ALWAYS come loose and cause a gap.

Your best bet is to search here and figure out whats the best double sided tape and the only right way of doing this is removing the entire lip or just that side of the lip and using a clear coat cleaner like prepsol to clean the surface of the bumper, install the new double sided tape and reinstall the lip. In a few months it will come off again anyway..
