ShortShifter?

I just got done installing the shortshifter and 1st gear doesnt engage where it use to. its about a mm of difference. For example.... I use to be able to jus yank the shifter into 1st, now I have to pull to the left slightly and engage. did I install something incorrectly or thats because the throw was modified? And the shifter cable seemed to be twisted a lil bit to the side so I twisted it a little bit to fit back on the ball that makes the shifts; should it be tight or loose whens its twisted into place for the ball to go back on. other than that the short shifter is siiiiiiiick the car feels 1000000000 times better

mine's been sitting in the garage for several months, now...anxious to hear any other comments as I have been too lazy to install, yet.

How long did it take you to put it on?

bro the instructions they send from comptech are good and the tell you to remove a lot of things, you ask me?.... the 2 side panels can stay on and you can still remove everything properly especially if you have prior "car ripping apart knowledge" It took a lil more than an hour because I didnt wanna scratch any pieces or forget where something goes, but I took it apart again yesterday to flip the shifter cable around and make it a little bit looser to see if 1st engages nicely (and it does) and it took me 30 mins to do it all in the same order but obviously faster. the shifter makes all the difference I wouldnt drive the car for a while though that glue needs good time to connect to the metal. So for 2 hours I didnt drive the car out of fear I might break or loosen something.

thanks, man...it seems easy enough. I pulled out the console once before when I put the carPC in...it wasn't very difficult. I've just been looking for an excuse to rip it apart again so I can put on the shift kit while I'm in there...
