Thumbs up Shaved Door Lock Mod-TL

Ok guys....dont flame me here...but I have had more than my share of questions regarding the "shaved door lock mod" listed in my sig. Here is the poop....and I cant take credit for this as I also found it right here on this board in the PICS section and will credit KRAY17 for the information and pics (I actually think he got it from somebody else too - cTLgo) Either way...good info and I will post the pics below that will stay there permenantly.....credit cTLgo and KRAY17 completely!

DOOR LOCK "SHAVE" MOD:

Tools needed: One small flathead screwdriver
Time: 5 minutes (if you are a slow worker!)
Result: Smoothed Out/Shaved Look! Matches all other handles on car!
Process Description:
Replace the small cover on your drivers side door handle that has the key hole in it with an identical cover (same part#) that matches the back driver side door that has no hole...very easy to do and cost is VERY cheap! Pics below....

Some of the questions that will exist would be...what if I get locked out?

Answer: Carry a small screwdriver in the trunk so you can easily take cover off and access keyhole in the event that your battery fails and the remote wont work.

You can pop that thing off with a key...I used a steak knife to do mine initially.

If the battery fails, the trunk won't pop either.

Better start carrying a leatherman with you.

Looks good though.

Damn! You are right...this is the first I have noticed that there is no trunk lock hole! O'well....I actually dont carry a screwdriver at all...never worried about it! But the Mod is right......any steakknife or butter knife or pocketknife would do the same....and if you are one of those PC geeks with a pocket protector....you prob already have a pen screwdriver in your front pocket! I guess what I am saying is getting these off is easy as heck so acess to lock in emergency is no big deal!

Actually, these pictures are already posted in the long thread in the 3G Garage. But thanks for the confirmation on how easy it is to do.
