Service Question
Service Question
I'm at 20,000 miles on an 05 TL , now the last time i went for an oil change i was told i need to get a bigger service that will be about 300+ dollars, i told them hold on till the next time i need an oil change, so now its coming up for that change, do you know if this bigger service is needed , what do they do? i hate to part with money if it not really necessary. if it is ok , if not i don't now, help me out if you can, should i go for it?
its an expensive oil change, tell them just to do an oil change and tire rotation, and check the e-brake to make sure it is adjusted to factory specs (pref. for MT). The go over to the parts department and get yourself a cabin air filter and a engine air filter, come back home and install them yourself, it takes less than 30 minutes and you save about 150 dollars of labor. There are great DIY's on the board, I have used them countless times and they are the best. they are located in the 3G garage, which is at the top of every 3G fourm in this section.

Nope. Keep receipts of parts you buy and install yourself. Including Oil or other fluids.
You can post them on Acura OwnerLink yourself, but you don't have to, just keep the records/receipts.
Also, follow the MID/Owner Manual, not what the dealer tells you - they just want your money. You can have service and routine maint done anywhere you want.
Finally, while you should do all scheduled maint and keep the service record and/or receipts, when I turned my lease in earlier this year, they didn't even look at them. And NONE of my service was done by Acura.
