Service in DC Area?

Bought a TL non navi at Radley for $30500 + taxes, tags... I brought it in to fix a couple of rattles and other minor fixes. I am not impressed with the service dept, or sales dept.-high volume low quality dealer. Will switch to other area dealer, even though they provide lifetime oil and 2 years free maintainence. Any one with good service experience in DC area. How is Chevy Chase?

Love my TL and want it treated right!

I've been going to Pohanka for awhile. Service is good when you can get them to focus on what you want done vs. what they are trying to push that day. Been quite a bit of churn on the service advisors however... news faces all the time.

I am very interested in this as well. I am waiting on my TL from Rosenthal in Gaithersburg which is not close to me. Radley is the closest. I was thinking of using Radley for service.

Chevy Chase sucks. First of all, you have to wait at least 10 days to get an appointment. Second of all, I saw their service dept-in basement and two lifts-full of dust and junk.

I go to Rosenthal in Gaithersburg, MD-they are great! Clean, courteous, friendly, etc.

I also bought my TL at Radley and I hear they are actually one of the best servive departments in the DC area. The trick is use the day shift for anything major as the night crew is basically made up of new folks just getting into the business. I would use the night hours for oil changes but that's about it.

Used pohanka for 3 years 2001-2004. Great service, very helpful and good hours. Depends on which area of the beltway you are on.

I've used Tischer's Service Dept twice for the MDX and both times I was treated rudely and felt like I was ripped off :rocketwho (and it was warranty work). I take it to the Honda dealership near the office for the routine stuff.

I had good service at Pohanka when I've had to have warranty work done on the CL way back when and last week on the TL.

I presume you use someone else for service. Do you think you are getting less service quality in going to a dealer that you did not purchase from ??

Service and sales are ususally seperate. Hell they don't care where you buy the car. They make most of their money from the service department anyway. They are happy to have you no matter what.

I guess some show their appreciation better than others.

I agree. When I bought the MDX I went with Tischer over Pohanka due to a much better price but the salesman at Pohanka still offered me the free 3k mile oil change and loaner program. The Service Manager even called to offer his service if I had any problems with my MDX (Didn't even get that from Tischer)

Stay away from Radley in Falls Church. Karen Radley in Woodbridge is fairly good. I need to try Pohanka for comparison.

I've bought and taken my car to Pohanka and they treated me pretty well. I had some hazing problem with the paint on my car and they buffed it out no questions asked.

I've had good luck with Pohanka, and no problem getting a loaner (TSX).

Subframe, Did you buy from Pohanka? I'm wondering if would they provide loaner if purchased elsewhere.

I have had no problems with Tischer.

Please note that the owner of the dealerships nephew is the service manager.

I've had similar experiences with Tischer. Even though they are only a couple miles from where I work, I'll never do business with them again.

BTW anyone have any experience with Norris Acura West's service department?

The ONLY service center I would use is Rosenthal. The TL is my fourth Acura so I've tried them all. Rosenthal is by far the best of the group.

I live in southern Maryland, so for me to drive to Gaithersburg is a long trip (not so long in the TL). I would rather do this than bring my car anywhere else. Thier service is consistantly good. Problems are always fixed the first time. Might take a day or two for the harder ones but its fixed.

Amen to micheal's comment. I didn't buy my car there but had no problem, i.e., automatic loaner car, car wash, etc. They are nice.

Were in Southern MD are you? I've only seen 3 other 04TLs in Chuck county.

Interesting....I've read pros and cons from all but Rosenthal which has been all pro. I am glad I am purchasing from there. The saleman that I am dealing with seems to be top noch as well.

OH...just got my VIN today 6 days till the fun begins !!

Sorry on not supplying details. I had typed them in on other posts and was being lazy.

Here is the whole story. While taking my '03 TL-S in for the 5th time to repair the popping up center console lid, they scratched my Navi screen (after 3 weeks of ownership). They bitched and moaned, but I got them to replace it. In replacing it, they scratched up 5 different pieces of center console and dash trim pieces. After getting their "master tech" to replace the 5 scratched pieces, I have never darkened their doorstep again.

This was Radley Acura in Falls Church btw (so you don't have to go back to the first page of the thread)

Not quite in Charles. Southern most point in Clinton. I've only seen one other TL and it was grey. Was that you?

To TLnAround: Who was your salesman? I've bought three Acura's from Steve Dorfman. Best salesman I've ever had the pleasure of doing business with. Doesn't waste your time with alot of BS. Almost too honest to be a salesman.

No I have the Red and I just got it 2 weeks ago. I pass through Clinton everyday commuting between Hughesville and McLean so if you see a Red TL with the bodykit and tinted windows (and driving a little fast  ) it's probally me.

Rosenthal Acura gets my thumbs up too. Been taking my 95' Integra there for years and it's been nothing but pleasant. Eileen McGrath is the rep I've been dealing with..now she get's my TL business as well. I was never one to take my vehicles to a dealer but Rosenthal change my tune years ago.

Steve Shager. Not high pressure and full of **** like the other "typical" salemen I met from the other area dealers.
I hope to be picking up my AM/Quartz/5AT/Navi this Tuesday......I don't know if I can stand the wait
